LeBron yells at mom to sit down after hard foul
by FOXSports.com
Gloria James doesn't like to see her little boy get beat up

So when she saw Paul Pierce drag LeBron James into the crowd on a drive to the basket, Gloria jumped up to his defense.

Now, she might want to wash LeBron's mouth out with soap.

As Gloria approached the scuffle, Cleveland's star forward told his mom to sit down, using language that might have offended a few lipreaders.

"I told her to sit down with some language I shouldn't have used. Thank God today wasn't Mother's Day, it was yesterday," James said after Monday night's 88-77 victory.

But James swears he was just looking out for her, trying to make sure she doesn't miss any games.

"Even though that's my mother, the commissioner doesn't care if it's your mother or your kids or anybody, you can't allow fans and players to get involved like that. And I can't afford for my mom not to be at every last one of my games."

Kevin Garnett, trailing on the play, tried to calm her and Wally Szczerbiak approached her for a high five, but Gloria James was too angry to pay attention to either.

Szczerbiak was impressed. "She was fired up. It was great. She was animated, she was pumped up. She's LeBron's mother, she was obviously amped up like the rest of the crowd."

She returned to her seat shortly after, and the Cavs went on to win Game 4 and even the series against the Celtics at two games apiece.

Okay, honestly...I can kinda relate.

Have YOU ever had a moment when your Momma went a LIIIIITTTLLLEEE too far in defending you, her BABY???

Me?  I was a thrower in high school so when regular track season started, our coach (a jack ass if there ever was one) made this little information packet.  Well, to begin with, it was filled with all types of statements like "play through the pain" and "don't complain unless you're REALLY injured."  I mean, stuff you hear often but the way it was presented, it seemed like we'd only be excused from practice if our leg got sawed off or we were shot rather than a pulled or strained muscle (which can be huge for anyone on a track team).  So when the athletic department held their Spring athlete/parent conference, my mom WENT.OFF.  Except, she didn't go off on the coach, she went off on the athletic director, who really hadn't looked at the packet and had no idea what was going on.  I was embarassed so I kept sliding down in my seat until I was practically on the floor because, at the time, I didn't realize that it was probably better for her to ask the A.D. about it instead of the coach.  I just looked at it as her going off on the wrong person.

Well my mom never went off in that way in public, but she did become kind of a public cheerleader. And since I was the kid who didn't play that much, it was pretty embarassing. The one that stands out in my mind though, a volleyball tourney, final game. We're rallying back from like, a 12-4 score (this was before rally scoring came into play) and the moms are getting pumped up. My mother gets down from the bleachers, leads the moms in a team cheer, and ends it all WITH A CARTWHEEL. I lost a little bit of my teenage soul that day.

yeah, my mom was that mom. kind of embarrassing since the only thing i did that warranted cheering my freshman year was keeping that bench warmer than anyone else could.

my ex is such a queen. mind you, my son doesn't mind that his father is gay. but shit completely queening out and screaming and cheering the way he does -- this boy has told me more than once to keep his father away from his track meets and rugby matches.

me, i watch silently. he wins the quarter mile, random white people pat me on the back for how good a runner my son it. stroll up to the boy, hi-five him, that's it. the cheering and hooting is for home.

(my ex's son looks more like me than my ex. most people think he's mine.)

My Ma came to one of my rugby games and ran out onto the field when she saw I was down. The coach had to tell her to leave, but she wouldn't until she knew I was okay. After that, my parents had enough with rugby and wanted me to quit. Good times.

I woulda. But I've been banned from many activities. If she gets the ball anywhere near the volleyball net, I'm yelling "that's my BABY!" and clapping. I scream so much for all her teammates that people aren't always sure which one's my kid.

The coach like for me to come, my daughter, not-so-much.

From the pictures it look like Gloria had her purse ready to go Aunt Ester on someone for hurting her baby.

I don't have that kind of mother, but I am that mother. My 8 year old is already making it very clear on what functions I'm allowed to attend. Face down one set of older bullies with a threat of grieveous bodily harm and the kid acts like I can't be trusted at a football game.

Both my parents were quick to get rowdy whenever necessary, but my dad was definitely crunker than my mom.

My dad was the calmer spectator.

My mother was too crunk at softball games, basketball....even dance recitals. LOL

For real. She would say things like, "why the hell is that damn *insert random insult directed towards some other 9 year old kid* in front of my child!?!?! I KNOW DAMN WELL SHE WAS TOLD TO STAY IN HER 'WINDOW!'.
