Bad Racist Reporting By Time.com, CBS, CNN and many others
Remember this?
Well......
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070621/ap_ on_re_us/crash_assault
* It was a little boy who got hit not a little girl
* they said there were 2,000 to 3,000 people in the area then police spokeswoman Toni Chovanetz said only 20 people were in the area where the assault occurred.
* Chovanetz also said there was no connection to the nearby city-sponsored festival for Juneteenth, which commemorates Texas slaves getting the word that they had been freed. But every major News Outlet reported it as if this was the case.
* They misspelled Booker T.'s name "Broker" in these same reports.
* They said that there were 20 attackers, but now they say "there could have been anywhere from two to 20 attackers"
Oh I bet Time and CNN and every other web site that ran this story felt good about getting the exclusive about what "those people" were up to now.
I feel sad for everyone who was injured in this incident: but I'm also sick and tired of these people who report the news jumping to conclusions about my people. I mean if a murder happens on Saint Patrick's day they don't assume the white people are rioting. And that was the implication-- in the way the story was originally reported.
