Whoever gets further fastest will be the one to get shot. Obama better hire the Fruit of Islam or something. I don't care who you are... everyone's getting patted down. He needs to buy one of those pope mobiles and skip the meet n greets with the people. Send out a press release saying "I love my country and all my countrymen, but a brotha is tryin to LIVE! Vote Obama in '08!"

Actually he's very politically skilled. The way he's been able to position himself into the lead as a black Democrat in a Bush state and speak to both sides without swing to far either way has been well done.

I have problems with some of the apparent pandering he’s done to get a piece of the right, but nonetheless I think you can right a text book on how he’s run the campaign in general. He erased a nearly 20 point lead from the time of the primary in August in just two months. He’s a slick bastard. He makes his opponent Bob Corker look like an armature.

but I get you. I think he's astute, just that his family issues make him a less viable option. In this election year everyone is sensitive to even the faintest hint of political "insiders", scandle or crazy. And I think the Ford family has touch of all that, don't they?

But really I'm probably just hating on his green eyes. They spook me! LOL

Uhh, I think both. If he thinks he has a shot I believe he'd go for it. If not, he's be happy to be a power broker.

Harold Fold Jr. couldn't be president because there's no way he could win the Democratic Party Nomination. A Tennessee Democrat is different than a national democrat. Hell, Harold would be a Republican in Massachusetts. I can’t see the Democratic Party swinging all the way from John Kerry to Harold Ford.

Though I’m a moderate, I don’t really like him or care for too much of his politics; though I’ll probably be voting for him anyway next Saturday.

I'll give you that if he can thoroughly reinvent himself and effictively change his positions. But Al Gore had 10 years to do, and off the back of a very popular democratic president. Ford would have to do it in 2 years with no such wave of favoritism to piggy back.

either newsweek darkened him up for that cover, he laid out beforehand, or he got some spray tan.

if you've ever seen harold ford in person, you'd know he's lighter than that newsweek cover. a LOT lighter.

No matter how hard he tries, he's never going to be president (HF Jr.) He simply doesn't have the skills to govern on a national level. Not only that, but he's just a little too defensive when asked tough questions (he has a LOT to hide...)

In the grand scheme of things, are Democrats and Republicans any really different? Nope, not at all. And I guess these are my socialist roots coming out, but if America thinks that Democrats will magically change the county and put us on another path, I've got some swamp land I'd like to sell you.

I'm not making any offers for swampland, but I've got a piece of paper of the voting records of 5 CA Democratic House candidates next to the 5 Repug candidates. There's a BIG difference, at least in their voting, and that's the only thing that has an impact on my black ass.
