Ran into Rene tonight...
...hi there, I'm new to this community, obviously a huge BL fan. I ran into Rene tonight at my local grocery store here in Los Angeles, and told him how brilliant the show was, etc. What a fantastically congenial and warm person he is! He said he was proud to be a part of the show, mentioned James Spader (*drool*) and William Shatner as being some of the most fine actors. I asked him if they had gotten picked up yet, and he said yes! They start shooting again in May. Wheee!

Wow, that's great! He's fantastic on the show; I think I'm one of the few people who likes Paul. Glad to hear he was so nice!

No shit! That's awesome news. I didn't think much of Rene (having known him only as Paul) until I saw him at a BL panel. He's a funny, funny guy and struck me as very nice.

Rene is such a great actor, and I remember hearing from his DS9 days that he was such a genuine, friendly guy. How cool that you got to meet him!

I wish they'd give Paul a little more to do on the show, though!

That's AWESOME!!! I was a little worried they wouldn't get picked up. Rene sounds like a really cool guy. I know alot of ppl don't like Paul, but I always kind of did.

They shoot the show at the same studios as The O.C. in Manhattan Beach.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, but I'll show my age here and say that I remember him from the days of Benson; he also did the voice of a character in a favorite movie of mine, The Last Unicorn, and I've always thought he was a good and underappreciated actor. Thanks for sharing your experience with him!
