yeah, i'm going to hosting a meet up for my birthday party! =P
its either going to be at a library, park, or at my house. But i'm think about the park since it seems like the best option. now for those who don't go to doll meet up on den of angels (or i never told you) i live in silver spring, so this may be a drive for you. Another thing their are going to be little kids there, even if its only one, so beware! i haven't worked at all the details yet, but i would be glad if some of you guys could come!
(BTW name change in like a week, but my user pic will be the same :3 )

Hi all, I have a quick question for those of you who have used Crescent for Y! Japan auctions. How long does it typically take from the time the item arrives at Crescent, before they are ready to ship? I won a couple of items (non-bjd) last month. Once everything had arrived at Crescent, it was only about 36 hrs (if that) before they were ready to ship. I won a fullset doll on Y! Japan last week. She arrived at Crescent in 2 days, I paid for her, and I've already gotten my deposit refunded. It's now been four days since then, and I still haven't gotten the email saying that she's ready to ship and asking for EMS fees. My member's page on Crescent still says "processing".
I'm only concerned since the first transaction I did with them turned around so quickly. Is it more typical that it takes several days between the item's arrival, and shipment? (And yeah...I have a feeling that as soon I ask about this here, I'll get my "items are ready to ship" email, lol!)

My Angel of Dream Doll body finally arrived, so she is now whole. Hopefully this weekend I will have some time to start designing and sewing an outfit for her, since it is my weekend off from work. The seller sent me a "free" wig since there had been such a mixup with my order, and though my idea was to buy a long, black wig for her soon, she does look cute with this short blond wig with black ribbon bows!

After being interested in Dollfies for several years, mine is on it's way. Well, her body is on the way. I recieved my doll last week, but there was a factory mix up, and her lovely head was on a boy body, which I have no desire for. So I had to keep her head, and her body is scheduled to arrive today. 
I first really discovered these ABJDs when my husband, who is a fanatic of all things Japanese, bought me a Gothic & Lolita Bible, and there was a picture of one. I fell in love. I would sit with issues of Haute Doll, looking at them like it was porn.
Finally I decided to go forth and get one. Being ever so short on cash, as we all are these days, I decided on the Angel of Dream Qing doll, a 1/4 size doll. I plan to buy her shoes and wigs, at least for now, but I want to sew her custom outfits, as I love to sew, have tons of gorgeous material, and have made outfits for my husband's dolls, and others. I am also looking forward to making her jewelry.
I haven't named her yet, as I am waiting for her to tell me who she is.

x How many BJDs do you own? I have one at home, one more on order and plans for the addition of several others when my paychecks get bigger.
x What kinds are they? At home I have a DollZone Shoyo MSD (with default faceup). On order is a DollZone Wing and Leo.
x How long have you been into BJD? Hmmm... 2007-ish? I can't really pinpoint it as it was a kind of build up but that approximately when it became truly noticeable.
x Do you attend conventions? (if so, specify which) Yeah. I've been attending Otakon every year since 2002. As a matter of fact, I ordered my Bella while I was at Otakon '08 (from the hotel via my old laptop), though she didn't arrive until October 23 due to the Olympics.
Currently I'm trying to get my best-friend to get a doll. Also I'm in the process of learning to sew doll clothes. I'm looking for people who do faceups to update my Bella's makeup and do Gwen's and potentially do the bodies too. Otherwise I'm looking into how to do it myself (as a proper artist should, but I don't trust myself with a paintbrush nor with makeup). I'm always open for advice and/or a new friend. ^.~
I'll post pics of Bella once I locate my camera charger... >.>

x What kinds are they? Both are by a local maker, Natalie, at LadySaiyuki.com. I have a purple Ted and Hanyuu (old version)
x How long have you been into BJD? Recently got into it this past year.
x Do you attend conventions? (if so, specify which) Usually if there's a South Florida Convention I'll go. :) Megacon, Supercon, and Chibicon were what I attended last year and plan to do so again this year, though I may skip Chibicon. My friend, Dezwithabat (on DoA), and I also like to hold South Florida Meet-ups, we're planning for another one in April. I'll post info as it gets closer.

My friend Dez was actually the one who got me into BJD. Prior to that I couldn't see the reason to spend so much on a doll, especially when I never really liked dolls as a kid. At Megacon though she introduced me to Natalie and her creations. All of Natalie's dolls at the time were YoSD, I'd never seen ones so small, only ever SD. I instantly fell in love with the Ted version. I worked super hard for three months so I could buy my little Nezumi, when I went and met Natalie again at Supercon she told me that the Hanyuu cast had broken and there would be no more. Dez had gotten a Hanyuu that she'd named Molly and I'd fallen in love with her too. I saw that only one purple Hanyuu was left and I knew I must take her home with me to be Nezumi's twin sister.
Though reluctant to them at first, after Nezumi I've become a complete addict and planned out the next thirteen dolls I want to get, of all shapes and sizes to fit my characters. :P
A little bit about me is that I'm an art student currently pursuing a degree in 3D Animation. It's tough work and sometimes I disappear from the face of the planet if I get overloaded, but I've never enjoyed a field more. :)

I wasn't always in to BJD. A friend of got one, and when I first saw him I was like: Okay. And didn't really care, I actually thought she was pretty weird the way she was talking about him. But after the second meeting of me and her doll, we just bonded--and I would always ask her if I could carry him for her. [he's an SD too so he's heavy lol] And then after getting some sites from her I went and started to look at them and first fell in love with Dream of Doll's SI, and was determined to get him, until she showed me Dollmore's site and I found--Kyoharu, my Broken Ice Tears Pado. I'm a fan of the Japanese rock band, Dir en grey and he reminded me so much of a visual kei Kyo that I just had to have him, not to mention there was just something in those eyes of his in those pictures that called to me. LoL!! It took me over a year to get him since the economy has been crappy, but he just arrived home on 1-7 of this year.
