mrs_dragon's behest, I contacted all of the artists whose artwork I used in several recent icon batches. I received replies back from two artists --
thedreamygiraffe and
LaurenAlexander -- both of whom have given their permission to use their art in icons here. :)
However, two others have declined to have their work used. I made notations in the original posts, but I also feel it's important and necessary to state this here: Icons featuring images by
lindsayart and
barkingbirdart have permanently been removed from this community. Their art is copywritten/rights managed. I ask that, if you took one of the icons featuring either artists', you respectfully stop using it. Thank you.
Likewise, I will very soon -- as in, right after I make this post -- be taking down icons featuring art from the following artists:
Wyanne,
tascha, and
Sascalia. This might be a temporary situation or it might be a permanent one. I haven't received a response back from them, and I feel the need to be proactive about the situation. Until I hear otherwise, I'm going under the assumption that they don't want their artwork used in icons. It was never my intention to infringe on anyone's rights or, heaven forbid, hurt/hinder anyone's business. Especially not in these tough times we're living in today! (Don't I know how painful this economy has been.
*sings the blues*)
Anyhow, I'm sorry for any grief caused. If you love the work done by these talented individuals and you have the means to show how much, PLEASE go visit their
etsy shops. Be patrons and support them, if you can. ♥
