This is a private community for those with or otherwise affected by bipolar disorder. We're not interested in gawkers or those who can't take mental illness seriously or treat those affected with the respect we deserve.

If you are interested in joining, you are required to answer the poll HERE (and comment there after answering). You'll be added as soon as possible. You must agree that any protected posts in this community are respected as protected and not shared with any for whom they are not meant.

• Respect other members. Everyone is encouraged to offer advice, but do not try to force your beliefs (regarding lifestyle, course of treatment, or anything else) on anyone. Everyone has his or her right to an opinion and to free will.

• Please do not post any graphic entries regarding s-i (self-injury) or suicide attempts. If you need to talk about such things, you are more than welcome to do so, according to guidelines, in the unquiet community. If you are posting something else that you feel may be triggering to others, please use an <lj-cut> before it.

• Discussion of treatment is allowed and encouraged, but please refrain from making suggestions regarding self-adjustment of prescription medications, as though you mean well, such information could have unfavourable results. Please do not make adjustments to your medication yourselves (change dosages, for example, or break up treatment without consulting a doctor), for reasons I believe I need not mention here.

• If you are a member and would like your post to be viewable only to other members of the community, make it "friends only" when you submit it. For more information on how to do this, please see the LiveJournal FAQ regarding security of journal entries. Please report any abuse among members or within the community to the maintainer. Do NOT contact me asking me to add you to the community. See above.
