Well, I couldn't put it in bette words, but that's how I feel... and here is more from
Lost in Translation:

I definitely feel lost and alienated... and I amazed to see that in many of his movies Bill is in the same situation... whether he is spending his time in a tree (Get Smart), stuck in time (Groundhog Day), stuck in his mind (What about Bob), on a journey to enlightment (The Razor's Edge, Larger Than Life), a journey where he tries to just find his way (The Man who
knew too little), find his feelings (Broken Flowers), ... trying to find himself (groundhog day, Scroodeg)... he is always Lost (lost in translation; but he is lost in all his movies)... and so am I now... again.

Bill, are you my father? or what?

Actually Bill is the Clown (Quick Change) and he addresses life with both biterness and humour, being kind but also sarcastic, his personality is charismatic. While Ernest Hemingway and Albert Camus approach the paradox of life writing books, Bill brings it to the screen in his way of acting. He reveals the paradox of how our deepest desire and will to enjoy life is always facing the sad reality of living where our feelings are constantly rebuffed, rebuked,... our feelings are pushed back by the awfull reality of that same life that we wish to enjoy so much. That same opposition which exists between the joy of life and the biterness with all experience when our feelings are rejected is exactly what Bill uses: his humour and charisma against his sarcasms and biterness... and this appears in basically all his movies... he uses humour to bring things into ridicule... on one side he is funy but his jokes are bitter...

For those who did not see it, there was an article on Bill Murray about him sky diving on Yahoo last week, and it has now appeared on TV....

Then he is playing in a new movie called City of Ember... it is a kind of science fiction
movie in which he is the mayor of the city, based on a 2003 movie, it is like the end of
the world and there aren't many people left around... Not sure when the movie comes out.

I went to see Get Smart and there is a very brief appearence of Bill Murray with his funy-sad face... he plays the sad one there and reminded me of his old movies where he plays the guy who cries (as in What about Bob)... A pity he appears less than a minute. I wish I had a camera in the theatre to take his picture... I am sure this picture is going to show up sooner or later around...

I don't want to spill the beans, but if someone wants to know more about his appearence in get smart, then I'll tell you more....

Also, this community needs to stop being so dead. Does anyone have any great Bill stories? I mean, everyone has heard the Bill driving a golf cart drunk story... and the Bill turning up at a student party in Scotland story (I live in Scotland, and was so gutted when I heard that! Incredibly cool though!)... anyone have any others? They're always awesome to hear, he's such a legend. Here's a story I found that Harold Ramis' said in an interview:

“One of my favorite Bill Murray stories is one about when he went to Bali. I’d spent three weeks there, mostly in the south, where the tourists are. But Bill rode a motorcycle into the interior until the sun went down and got totally lost. He goes into a village store, where they are very surprised to see an American tourist, and starts talking to them in English, going ‘Wow! Nice hat! Hey, gimme that hat!’ ” Ramis’s eyes were lighting up. “And he took the guy’s hat and started imitating people, entertaining. Word gets around this hamlet that there’s some crazy guy at the grocery, and he ended up doing a dumb show with the whole village sitting around laughing as he grabbed the women and tickled the kids. No worry about getting back to a hotel, no need for language, just his presence, and his charisma, and his courage. When you meet the hero, you sure know it.” He smiled. “Bill loves to get lost, to throw the map out the window and drive till you have no idea where you are, just to experience something new.”

I wish they would start talking again ;_;

Also, WHY THE HELL IDN'T QUICK CHANGE OUT ON REGION 2 DVD? THIS MUST BE REMEDIED!
