Jayne hat kit arrives!
Hello all, this is my first post here so forgive me if someone has posted a similar review to these kits.

I just recieved the best package in the mail! My Jayne hat kit arrived and I cannot begin to express the love I have for heather of www.wearwithstyle.com!

a friend and I were joking about how awesome it would be if she packaged it in hay and added a little note from "Ma Cobb" but I think she's gone above and beyond....

first, the package itself... lovingly adorned with all sorts of firefly serenity references:

closeup shots of all the awesome stamps

I love this one of course :)

serenity!

and lo.. the yarn was not wrapped in hay but there was a note from ma cobb... and she even went to the trouble of packaging up the pattern in protectors for me.complete with color pics and all!

and lastly the yarn itself, I cannot wait to get started with this! the kit also comes with premade pompom, and stitch markers to get you started... oh and she included this cute little blue sun sticker too!

off to make my new hat! :)

Aw, I'm so glad that you liked it! This is the first time I've seen pics of one that made it to its destination. To say that you made my night would be an understatement. :)

I had design help on most of the stamps (especially Capital City and Jiangyin) from [info]houseofdanie, a very talented graphic artist/web designer. She also did the legs on http://www.wearwithstyle.com . And I cannot say enough good things about Ready Stamps. Not only did they turn my order around in a pretty timely fashion, at my request they also provided me with all the templates and stuff - meaning that I have relief molds of these designs that I could use for other crafts!

Would you mind terribly if I linked to this post from the site?

To say that YOU made MY night would be an understatement! haha.

All I could think of when I got the package is how jealous I am of all the crafters participating in the firefly/serenity swap on craftster and how cool you packaged this up! I so want to make a bobblehead geisha, package it up all nifty like this, and secretly send it to someone and see their internet squeee post about how much they love it haha...

You can of course link to this post from the site, it is a review of your product after all ;)

Your "lol" says you're joking, but after 250+ hats shipped, believe me, a lot of folks want to get Jayned up! :)

So the answer is: it depends on where you live. A finished, already-knitted Jayne hat to the US or Canada is $36. UK, Australian, and New Zealander hats run $40. Other points overseas are $43.

You can drop me a line at style at booboomonkey dot com if you want more info.

Omg, that's brilliant! Is it stupid to want the packaging as much (or more) than the hat kit??

I had to make a special userpic just to post about it. Feel free to gank.

Is the yarn easy to find in Canada? I have the pattern, don't need the kit.
