The closest I got was being in the hallway as Galecki ran to get in before the opening video was over. Heh. :(

For those who don't know, Joss Whedon wrote a little something during the writers' strike and it's been put online. It stars Simon Helberg, who played Howard Wolowitz in TBBT, as a henchman called Moist. It's available free at Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog for today only, before which it'll be put on DVD and sold for money. I'm really enjoying it, so thought I'd link you chaps to it!

Is anybody else going to the San Diego Comic Con this year? Only Thursday's programming schedule (caution: link may cause geekgasms) is up yet & no sign of The Big Bang Theory thus far, but hopefully there will be a panel. *crosses fingers*

Anyways, if anyone else is going give a shout. Maybe we can hook up & nerd out together for a bit!

Did anyone see this blind item from Ausiello Files Blog over at Entertainment Weekly? He may or may not be talking about The Big Bang Theory. Personally, I think he's not but just in case I'm wrong I want to share. And also, isn't it nice to see TBBT get a little attention?

Favorite character: Howard. Everything he says just cracks me up.

Which character would I be: Probably a combination of Sheldon and Leonard. I'm pretty friendly, but I'm incredibly smart and opinionated as well (and I can be a tad unpleasant when trying to defend those opinions, haa).

The geekiest thing about me: I would say it is a fact of not being able to recognize the fact that I am nerdy. Most of the things that I do that most would consider "nerdy" I find to be normal, every day activity. I guess if reading comic books at a bar while all your friends drink makes you a nerd, then so be it. =))

Well, I joined a week or so ago and then I see a handful of people doing this, so I'll join in too. Hi everybody!

Other favorite shows: Sports Night, Firefly, Scrubs, Gilmore Girls, Good Eats... I watch too much television, so I won't go on forever.
My favorite character: Penny adds something to the group dynamic that is often otherwise missing.
If I were one of the characters, I would be:Leonard, by far. I very often catch myself mid-sentence being far too nerdy than present company requires -- or wants. I'm just as awkward that way.
The geekiest thing about me is: Besides that my life revolves around nerdy stuff like D&D and such, I've also taken the time to rip my favorite shows, including BBT, to audio so I can listen to them in my car.

realization

I just realized something as I was doing the dishes. My brother was a comp sci major in college, a total computer nerd growing up (spent half his day EVERY DAY on the computer as a kid) and has always been very quiet/socially awkward.

He now, of course, has a very high paying job doing nerdy computer stuff with the government. He came home last Christmas and my dad and I showed him Big Bang Theory, thinking he would like because it's just a funny show. Turns out he "thought it was stupid" and wouldn't sit around to watch more than 2 minutes of it. Actually, after we told him what it was about and he saw the intro to a show, he left the room. I just realized he didn't like it because he could relate to it and he didn't want to admit it!!!

And as I write this, I realize my brother is Howard. A complete geek who thinks he's smooth on the dance floor and good with women (as my brother has previously spilled to me).

Though this may not be important to anyone else, I'm all s**ts and giggles about it.

Ahhh, life is good. ;)

What episode/moment did you start to really like The Big Bang Theory?

For me, it was episode...nine, I believe? At the beginning, when the boys turn on their stereo by sending a signal around the world via internet and then dance victoriously to the music. Up until then, I had been watching it begrudgingly, and kind of not enjoying it just out of spite. But that was the first time I really laughed out loud.

Hey just found this place! I'm really excited about it. I love The Big Bang Theory! Let's see, my name's Amber. I'm 20 and from the Midwest. I started watching the show during the finale because I recognized Kaley Cuoco from 8 Simple Rules. I've since downloaded and watched all the episodes and am eagerly awaiting the DVDs and season 2. :D

Other favorite shows: Doctor Who, Torchwood, House MD, Pushing Daisies, there are other shows that I watch, but those are my big loves.
My favorite character: Uh, not sure if I can decide. Penny cause I love Kaley Cuoco, but I also love Raj since he's so adorkable. :D
If I were one of the characters, I would be: None. I'm more the random person they might run into at a Comic Con or something.
The geekiest thing about me is: I'm studying biomedical engineering at a tech school. I attend Doctor Who conventions and would love nothing more than the Doctor showing up on my doorstep and whisk me away in the TARDIS. Plus now, I really want a Periodic Chart shower curtain. :P

One last note: I'm a vid-maker, and I'm currently working on a Big Bang Theory vid which I hope to have done by the end of the week. I also have a couple of more TBBT ideas lined up. I'll post links to the vids as I finish them!

Also, a confession. I only started watching the show because my brother thought it looked interesting, and it comes on before HIMYM, which we both love. I wasn't a huge fan in the beginning. The only thing that actually kept me coming back was THAT SONG! I'd tune in every week to wait for HIMYM and sing along. Now, I don't know if the show improved over the year, or if it just grew on me, but it's now one of my favourites. So glad I found a place to talk about it!

Was anyone else surprised at how quickly this happened?

I knew she had to realise he liked her, and it just made it seem rushed and rebound-ish cos of her break-up, which I don't really think seems like a nice way to hit off their 'relationship' if it's going to happen.

Hi! I'm new here. I only got into TBBT shortly after the writer's strike ended. Admittedly, I'm not a big tv watcher, but I was flipping through the channels one night when the internet was down and my son was sick and stumbled across the show. I fell in love almost immediately! My husband was home from work the following Monday, sick with the same thing my son had, and was surprised to find me watching tv. So he watched an episode with me and now he's hooked too! We've gone back and watched the first episodes of the season now, and I'm sorry I missed them first run. This is about the most original, hilarious sitcom I've seen since my childhood. It's so refreshing!

Anyway, I saw the questions on the main page and figured I'd best do an introduction post.

Other favorite shows Stargate Atlantis (the first three seasons were the best), House (the older seasons anyway), Firefly, Star Trek, Buffy, Earth 2... most of what I watch is older stuff.
My favorite character Sheldon is probably my favourite, but I really do enjoy all of them for their own little quirks. Sheldon is just so... original and unique.
If I were one of the characters, I would be I have no idea. I'm awkward and shy, but not to the extent of Raj. About all I think I have in common with Howard is religion/culture. I'm nowhere near smart enough to be either Leonard or Sheldon, but I'm more socially awkward than Leonard yet less so than Sheldon... so I have no clue. I'm definitely no Penny.
The geekiest thing about me is probably the fact that I don't realize how geeky I am until I'm thrust into the general public. It's not a pretty sight. Barring that, I'm just your standard run of the mill sci-fi and fantasy geek.
