If they ever make a movie for BIFN, who would you like to play the main characters and why?
My picks: Stacy: Danielle Panabaker (Because she looks very much like I imagine Stacey and she is great at playing such complex characters. Have you ever seen Mr. Brooks?) Amber: Lindsay Lohan (Of course she'll have to go back to being a redhead) Drea: Hayden Panettiere (I will cry if she is not casted for this role!) Chad: Chad Micheal Murray (Not just because his name is Chad) Jacob: Elijah Wood (It's the eyes! If only he were a few years younger...) Donavon: Robert Pattinson (Because I would love to see him play a darker character)

Hey, I've recently opened a fan site/forum type thing for fans of the BIFN series and all Laurie's other works.
It's really not a big deal, just a quaint little thing I've got going, but I figured I'd post about it, in case anyone was interested in joining.
here's the link.

December 18th, 2007: The day in which Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz was finally put on shelves. Fact is, I haven’t been this excited to crack open a book since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer were released. Those books are, in no doubt, very hard acts to follow, but Laurie certainly achieved her job in doing just that and more.
Maybe it's because of my intense interest in ghosts and other supernatural things, or maybe it's because I'm a fool for all things Laurie Faria Stolarz - or maybe it's both - but I absolutely could not put down Laurie's newest young adult suspense thriller, Project 17. No one’s ever made documenting a break-in into an abandoned mental institution look so good. In fact, it took me an estimated four and a half hours to read it with barely any downtime. That is, if you don’t count me taking a breather for two hours as to get some food in my system and to shower. Believe me, if doing those things while reading didn’t pose such a problem, then I would have undoubtedly read it in one sitting. That, my friends, is the definition of a page-turner. But that’s not surprising considering how enchanting Bleed and her Blue is for Nightmares series are.
Not only did Laurie, once again, invent an extremely intriguing storyline, but she also created characters that are so extraordinary that you’ll still be thinking about them even after their story is said and done. Project 17 is truly haunting.
Overall grade: A

Yay - it's out!!! A book is born. Run, don't walk, to your favorite bookstore and buy yourself a copy of PROJECT 17. If the bookstore doesn't have it, be sure to ask them to order you a copy. Many, many thanks!
Here's more info: Hyperion Books, December 2007 Hardcover $15.95 ISBN 9780786838561 Ages 12+ Breaking in was easy. Getting out will be harder. High atop Hathorne Hill, near Boston, sits Danvers State Hospital. Built in 1878 and closed in 1992, this abandoned mental institution is rumored to be the birthplace of the lobotomy. Locals have long believed the place to be haunted. They tell stories about the unmarked graves on the premises, of the cold spots felt throughout the underground tunnels, and of the treasures found inside: patients' personal items like journals, hair combs, and bars of soap, or even their old medical records, left behind by the state for trespassers to view.
On the eve of the hospital's demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about their adventures. For Derik, it's an opportunity to win a filmmaking contest and save himself from a future of flipping burgers at his parents' diner. For the others, it's a chance to be on TV, or a night with no parents. But what starts as a playful dare quickly escalates into a frenzy of nightmarish action. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room, they will unravel the mysteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might.

Praise for PROJECT 17:
“Page-turning action, genuine scares, and a satisfying conclusion should make this a hit with teens, particularly those who enjoyed the suspense of Stolarz's "Blue Is for Nightmares" series (Flux). – School Library Journal "Stolarz takes a delicious cast of characters on a terrifying thrill-ride. A harrowing adventure in an abandoned mental hosptial, PROJECT 17 is sexy, funny, poignant and blood-chilling." - R.A. Nelson, author of Teach Me and Breathe My Name “…Breakfast Club meets Blair Witch Project.” Ages 12-up. (Dec.) – Publishers Weekly

Did anyone get their hands on Project 17 today? I went to B&N last night to ask when they'd get it in and they said it wouldn't hit shelves until the 18th, but I'll still be going in tomorrow to check either way.

| BIFN Movie Trailer |
[13 Aug 2007|02:41pm] |
|
Hey everyone! I was bored this morning, so I decided to go through with an idea I've had for a couple months. It's a movie trailer for BIFN, through Drea's perspective, using clips from the show Heroes. You don't have to watch the show to know what's happening in the clips, because I manipulated them to be like the book. However, if you have not seen the entire first season of the show, then I suggest you don't watch it.
Title: Blue is for Nightmares Song: 'Teardrop' by Massive Attack, 'Hysteria' by Muse Vidder: phoenix39 Rated: PG-13 for some violent clips Watch it: YouTube
If YouTube does not work for you, or if you want to download it, let me know and I'll upload it to a different server.
