Bob Barr for President - Gay & Lesbian Words Banned

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
In response to a Bob Barr for president blog entry that stated that John McCain is possibly bipolar when it comes to the issues.

I responded asking if Bob Barr was bipolar and discussed his former position against same-sex marriage for gays and lesbians. Well apparently the Bob Barr site doesn't like the words, "sex", "gay", or "lesbian".

Not surprisingly "queer" made it through, although since this post they now banned that word as well.

Here is how the text showed up before moderator approval (Since that time the post has not been authorized and has been deleted).

You voted for the “defense of marriage act” to ban same-*** marriage equality throughout the country, and now say marriage is a states issue and nobody has the right to discriminate. You tried so hard to discriminate against *** and ******* couples. You will never get my vote, to me you are a bigot, plain and simple.

Hello everyone! I just recently moved to PB in San Diego and I'm pretty bored and lonely. I'm 19 and love me some girls and some boys, I just cant stick to one or the other! I was wondering if anyone knew where someone my age would be able to meet other girls in the area? Any ideas on just to make friends, it sucks here!

Hey Ladies

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I'm wanting to know if they are any bi curious girls who maybe want to talk about fooling around with girls and sex in general. I myself am Bi but I love to lick pussy  more than anything else.. I'm pretty lonely but I'd love to talk to some other females who like to fool around with girls =D

Bonjour Dollies.

I just joined this community and I wanted to first off say Hi. Second off, I joined because my mother knows I'm bi and she always tells me about how wrong it is and what an awful sin I am committing. This hurts me so much because I feel that love has no gender, race, sex, religion, etc. My mother was telling me about how she watched Oprah a while ago and Oprah had a mom and daughter on her show. The daughter confessed to her mom that she fooled around with girls. Then I suppose Oprah went off to warn parents about crazy young kids and their hormones. As if our lives aren't hard enough?! Now my mother won't let my sexuality go. I find that I can care about girls the same way I can care about boys. I can love both physically and emotionally. Love should not be imprisoned, it should be set free.

Whilst I don't agree with defining people, I wish some people would wear signs.

"Straight"
"Gay"
"Bisexual"

It would make life a hell of a lot easier.

Grrr.

Damn my love of possibly-straight women.

Hallo C:

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Hai. *Waves*

I guess I'll do a vague little self-introduction first, to get things done. :o

Call me Lhevi. c:

I'm a Chinese girl and have a strictly Catholic upbringing. My 'rents are both opposed to bisexuality/homosexuality, and so are a number of my friends. ;A; School-wise, I went to an all-girls Catholic school, and college [[I'm a freshman, hee. C:]] is also leaning towards Catholicism - De La Salle University, if any of you've heard of it. They're very liberal, but the name implies otherwise. 8D I grew up being taught that falling in 'love/lust' over people of the same gender would bring God's fiery judgement on us and make us all burn in Hell. [[Augh, yeah, my CLE teacher's the *tinies* bit of a religious zealot! D:< *Sarcasm implied* Heh.]]

At the moment, I really don't know the gender I'm attracted to. XDDD Since, I find pretty girl!featured men adorable, and boy!clothed women ever-so-hot. D: [[Omg. Amanda Moore in military clothes <3]]

So there, yeah. Hai hai, if anyone's interested to being friends or having someone bi-curious to talk to, add me~

Hi again

Callie
I don't know how many of you remember me, I posted months ago.

I'm a Journalism/Broadcasting major at my college and we were just given our first assignment for our first story that may be posted in the college paper. Our professor gave us a list of things we could write about and I chose to interview the advisor of the school's Gay/Straight Alliance. I told my mother what I chose to write about. Why I told her I don't know. I know she isn't accepting of me being bi or questioning and neither is my sister who is sure to find out now.

They don't get how much it hurts that whenever the topic comes up they look at me like I just ran over our dog or my mother looks at me and says, "Oh, you're still going with that?" They're the only family members I have that know and it really gets to me when they react like this. They've known about me for a while and my cousin and her brother both came out as gay, so homosexuality in the family isn't too much of a shock since they found about me after my cousins.

My mother doesn't want me to do the story, and she knows I want to join the GSA myself. She says it's too controversial, but she knows that I couldn't care less about what stangers think of me. I've been at the school for all of a month.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to get this off my chest.

Is the Meat Industry Homophobic?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
You don't have to look far to see how the meat/dairy industry perpetrate sexist and misogynist attitudes throughout their marketing campaigns as illustrated by Carol J. Adams author of the Sexual Politics of Meat. Here is her slideshow of misognyist images related to the industry. This post delves into whether they are also possibly homophobic in nature as well or just playing to gender stereotyping. I'd encourage you all to check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Question.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
beach

If we consider ourselves bisexual, or bicurious and we don't particularly enjoy sex with men but we have it because we think it might be better than the last time and because on the outside we find men attractive or sexy and/or they can arouse us but we also have sex with girls and/or find girls attractive and they arouse us, does that make us lesbians?

(Apologies if this question makes no sense. I was just thinking out loud, I know sometimes I shouldn't.)

PS. I have nothing against lebsians, I am 50% so.
