| About: | Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read! -- Groucho Marx Books are for everyone, and we love them! This is our little internet/IRL book club. Every month, three books will be suggested by one of the members, and we all vote on which of the three to read. Discussion shall ensue. There will be an IRL meeting to talk about the book (and by talk about the book, I mean drink wine and eat cookies) that anyone is welcome to attend, but we understand if you can’t make it because you’re not local to the I-25 corridor in Colorado. Suggestions: - You don’t have to buy the book of the month; in fact, I’d recommend against it unless you’re absolutely certain you’ll like it and will want to read it multiple times. Libraries are good. Friends are also good, and probably won’t charge you late fees. - The community is open to discussion for any book; if you’ve read something wonderful, let us know. If you’ve read something awful, please warn us. - Currently anonymous commenting is allowed, so you don’t have to be a member of LJ to participate in discussion. However, I really recommend you sign up for an account, because otherwise you won’t be able to make new posts to the community. - This is all about trying new things! Rule(s): - Be nice to the other members. Don’t bother being nice to authors or books unless you really want to. | |
