I just thought I'd drop by...
Oops, I must have dropped the ball, where was I.

I now have (internal) drag'n'drop working. There are still issues, but 'Customize' seems to work ok (although keyboard stops taking input). Also cleanup for things like dropping outside a mozilla window is completly removed.

So what's left to be done.
* Better setup / cleanup
* Some bug cleanup, I have one link, that's when dragged hangs the browser..
* Dragging to/from BeOS and Mozilla (native dragging)
* See if bookmarks works without patching
* Testing
* ?
* Profit

Update: I believe the typing loss (and scroll wheel loss) is not because of DnD. Could someone test if this is a focus-related bug by just opening 'Customize', click 'Done' and type something in the address-field. If it doesn't work it's a focus-problem. To get it working again just switch focus to another app and back.

Update 2,5: I can't login to our ftp-server, so I don't know where to put it. Contact me on IRC #beos, #beclan or #haiku at irc.freenode.net and I'll DCC to you.

Need any help with that one? Feel free to bump it up before some of the other todos. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can live with rough edges :-)

I may, depending on real life and such, release a debug build soon, for brave testers. Only thing is I don't want ordinary ppl to get their hands on it, or else I'll be doing a lot of support, getting a lot of duplicate reports and have to deal with issues because ppl didn't read up on what the release was supposed to be for.

So how do we distribute such a build (and code maybe) within BeZilla team?

Simply add a download link and instructions in the relevant bug (104729). Those who will see it, are most likely those who should.

Alternatively, it might be a good time to start a mailing list.

tqh,

I did the typing loss test that you described, and it worked fine here.

Using the latest BONE experimental MozillaFirefox-1.1.0-d4-bone.zip build.

I tried the same thing as Koki under Dano 5.1d0: same build, same test (View/Toolbars/Customize..., click done, click URL field, type away), same result. I'll also be happy to test - I have concerns about how the skin will react since it'll be exercising icons and visuals we've not used before.

How recent is your tree? I have seen focus issues after closing customise before but in my current build it seems fine.

I have a pretty old nsWindow, the reason for this I've rewritten some parts of it (like window creation) which, at least before the latest nsAppShell patch, saved 2 seconds in startup-time. Those changes are still experimental, but seems to work very nice, as they have been in my latest builds.

I have server space and bandwith available. If needed, I can provide both for downloads within the team. Email me at koki [at] aequus [dot] net.
