First off, I'd like to extend my sincere thanks to

starcrystalor, who was the kind person who put this community up for adoption, and graciously gave it to me. Thank you, very much, it will be well taken care of. =^_^=

Now, for a little about what

beyond_words is all about. I wanted to create this community in a way that it was a sort of "sister community" to my other one,

more_than_paper, a place for artists to share those works and characters who mean a little something extra to us.

But

beyond_words shall be more than that. This is a place to post literature, whether it be poems, short stories, creative writing (something that doesn't really fit into any real literature based catagory), creative essays, works in progress, novels (not the whole thing of course), etc, and get helpful comments and critiques, to inspire each other, and even discuss that intriguing new book you read the other day.

Discuss characters, experiences, personal muses/feelings/thoughts, what-have-you. The topics are pretty diverse when it comes to literature. =)

Rules and Regulations

Please make sure you've read and understood the rules before you sign up. It makes my life easier. ^_^

First and foremost, this is a community which hopes to uphold some level of professionalism and maturity. Which means NO NET SPEAK. Use proper grammar and spelling. No short cuts.

1. Once you've joined, post a quick/little introduction. Name, age, interests, writing style, likes, dislikes...it's all optional, but let us get to know you! You MUST post something at least.

2. Please keep within the specified topics mentioned above. This is a community for mature, in depth discussion of literary words, both published authors, and our own personal words. This is not a community to discuss that movie you saw last weekend with your friends.

3. When posting literature please provide links with which we can find your work. DO NOT just copy/paste your stuff into the journal. Use lj-cut tags. Also Remember to note any iffy material that may appear in the work for those who might now wish to read about it! Iffy material can be anything from excessive swearing, blood, gore, adult situations, etc.

4. Please be polite. Keep in mind the different sorts of people around you, and be openminded and respectful. Rude, or obnoxious behavior will *NOT* be tolerated. Flames or threats towards another member of this board will also not be tolerated. As well, overly demeaning or "put-down" critiques are not allowed. You are attempting to HELP the individual, not run them and their work into the ground.

5. Keep swearing to a BARE minimum. Use symbols such as "@#$%&*" if you must, that way, people get the idea, without being offended.

6. Spamming the community is not allowed under any circumstance. Post meaningful topics and supply thoughtful comments and/or critiques. This means, that joining simply to advertise is against rules. When you join and post your introduction, you may speak a little about your webpage (and post a link), but that's it! The only other time you should be posting links to your site, is to post literature. No posting just to say you've updated. =P

7. Having said that, you are not allowed to pester someone to answer you, and you are not allowed to beg for comments.

8. There is a 3 Strike policy here. Right now, I am the only admin taking care of this site, and rudeness/rule breaking will be dealt with promptly.

1# Swift and direct action taken by me to correct the behavior, and the post/comment deleted.

2# A direct and verbal warning or personal email. Post/comment deleted.

3# Your out. No coming back.

9. Right now, membership is open. But if there gets to be a problem, this can quickly change. I really don't want to, but I will to protect this community.

10. For those who have been here for awhile, please welcome and at least say a friendly "hello" to newcomers. You were welcomed warmly, please do the same for others. ^_^

11. Posting of copied, stolen, or plagerized work and claiming it as your own will get you IMMEDIATELY BANNED. Also, don't think that just because you have said grifted writing is on your site excludes you from this; you are wrong. If I, or any other member on this site finds stolen work on your site(s) you will also be banned.

12. I,

rip_sama, as the sole admin of this community, have the final say in anything that goes on here. I will be perfectly fair, and just, but if you are caught breaking any rules or being disrespectful, or anything else that compromises this board, I have the right to, and WILL kick you out. And don't think that you can get away with something just because I am not around. I have people who will tell me promptly of any violations that occur.

13. If you at any point have a concern, or problem with a member of this board, do NOT try to handle it yourself. Please contact me A.S.A.P and let me know about it.

15. Rules change and are added from time to time, it is YOUR responsibility to read these rules and make sure you understand them. If you have a question or concern, let me know. I will help you anyway that I can.
