Removing Tomato Stains
I stained my Mr. Bento soup container with the tomato soup I had a couple of nights ago. I soaked it over night with soap and, while the oil is gone, there is still a tomato ring on the inside :(

Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Cascade Plastic Booster-- made for dishwasher, but can use as a soak too.

I usually soak it with hot water, let it sit for a while and do it again, and scrub and soak... :P

Sorry this is unhelpful, but all the more reason to never eat tomato soup. I hate the stuff! Hope you can get it out. Try bleach? Mr. Clean Magic Eraser?

I would try bleach. Or dishwasher detergent. That contains bleach as well though so perhaps just go with the bleach from the start?

I've had my thermal bento side boxes stained with curry (turmeric actually) and... well.. I've just given up removing it. It doesn't affect how the thing works after all, it's just cosmetics...

Strangely enough I've never had my bentos stained, except for that turmeric thing. Then again I do pop them in the dishwasher (including those that aren't actually meant for it...)

try using citric acid (you know - that white powder thing). mix it with boiling hot water and pour into container. leave it for about 10 minutes, then clean your container normal way. i think it should help, since it gets rid of hard water stains.. never tried it on tomato stain though.. good luck ^^

You could mix baking soda and dishwashing soap into a paste, rub it onto the stain and fill the container with hot water to soak. The stain should come off. If there is still some residual stain left, another tip I have heard is to leave it in the sun, which will bleach it off naturally. Unfortunately, sun is in short supply in winter!

The simplest thing is to sit it in direct sunlight for a few hours. Sun bleaches the tomato pigment right out without damaging the plastic. I do this all the time and it works like magic.

i second (or third) the sun thing! i know that with clothes, if you get tomato sauce/soup on them it's best to wash them normally and then hang them in the sun. the mark goes right away!
