I first heard about this guy a stretch back when RyogaVee was going on about him like he was the coming of the Messiah. Not too long after that Brand had me over and played me some of his stuff. It's good but not so much to my tastes. I'd kinda liken it to country music in only the sense that I do kinda enjoy it but I'd never want to necessarily own it; that and this guy's stuff doesn't put me to sleep like that cowboy drawl.

With the possible exception of Dr. Demento and Weird Al, I don't think my geekdom lends itself well to a musical format.

Purely on impulse I wanted to see if he had any downloadable stuff I could find and hit up 1 of my favorite 3 search engines. Actually, had several screens worth of links pop up...but unfortunately most of them were dead. All that was available were these:

Fortune favors the wonky: Admittedly, I setup this post before I even read the Wikipedia entry. I'm glad I did read it because there's this lil' bit at the end that works out quite nicely. I quote: Prior to the Transformers (2007) screening, on June 3rd, 2007 at WOW Hall in Eugene, Oregon, mc chris announced that his albums would no longer be available for purchase on major markets, such as iTunes. He went on to say, "Pirate that shit," encouraging his fans to pirate, burn, or download his music and give it to their friends to help spread mc chris' popularity, in hopes to increase future record sales and popularity of the nerdcore genre. Not that I got a problem with doing this kinda thing, clearly as I have a community for that very purpose, but it's nice to know that mc chris actually encourages this sorta thing.

if you go here and look at the links on the right, you'll see about six martyrmix links to rapidshare.com folders. each one is an 75-80 minute compilation of mostly industrial music but several are a mishmash of styles selected with a loose theme in mind. its about a four step process to get the files from the free servers, so read carefully.

...but that's probably explained by the fact these are samplers from the new CD; longest one's about 2 minutes.

A lot of the times I setup the posts here I don't have the opportunity to check the links. Sometimes they turn out to be dead links but then there's the really bad ones.

Those that are not what I wanted in the first place.

The last Depeche Mode post I made are all samplers apparently; just found out. Think the longest one is about 1½ minutes. The Assemblage 23 one isn't even them and the same can be said for the last Switchblade Symphony post as well.
