About
Nah that’s great.”

From now on I’m gonna be speaking in Belzonics. Belzonics, is a system of language that reduces anything anyone else says to total non-sensible bullshit. If anyone says to you,

“Hey Belz, ya wanna go out to tonight?”

“Nah nah yeah.”

“Hey Belz, my uncle died.”

“Yeah, that’s great. “Nah, it’s really good”

Belz a vet. stand-up comic, actor, talk-show host & author was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Due to his “uncontrollable wit,” he was kicked out of every school he attended. His job as a paperboy led to an interest in journalism that included a job as a reporter with the Bridgeport post as well as work with other papers around thecountry. Using previous careers such as, teacher, census-taker, jewelry salesman, and dockworker, he honed his life into barbed comedic material. He began his career in show business with a starring role in “Groove Tube,” a now counterculture cult classic film. Since then, his comedic talents have been featured many forms, from off-Broadway (“The National Lampoon Show” with Bill Murray, Gilda Radner & John Belushi) to radio (“Brink and Belzer” on WNBC) to film (“Fame,” “Author, Author,” “Night Shift” & “Scarface”). He also appeared as himself in the Andy Kaufman biopic “Man on the Moon.” His other film credits include “Species II,” “Get on the Bus,” “Girl 6,” “A Very Brady Sequel,” “North,” “The Bonfire of the Vanities” & “The Big Picture.” He also starred in his own HBO comedy special, “Another Lone Nut,” & released a comedy CD of the same title. He hosted the network primetime special, “When Cars Attack,” starred in the six-part Showtime comedy series “The Richard Belzer Show,” hosted the live Lifetime talk show, “Hot Properties,” and Court TV’s “Crime Stories.”

He’s also famous for playing Detective John Munch on Homicide (as well asThe X-Files ). You can read a full list of his credits at imdb.com. Books: UFOs, JFK, and Elvis: Conspiracies You Don't Have To Be Crazy To Believe and How To Be A Stand-Up Comic by Richard Belzer, Larry Charles, and Rick Newman.
