Hello. I'm new to the community, and Beauty and the Beast has been my favorite of all the fairy tales. My second favorite is The Frog Prince. Anyway, I came across this book, and I was wondering if this community knew about it. I have a feeling fans of Beauty by Robin Mckinley will like it.

It's been a long time since I've done casting and after watching Beauty & the Beast and picspamming about it, I really wanted to watch all the other films including ones that I'd forgotten all about (Hercules, The Lion King) and the ones that I've never seen (Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame) and then in my boredom I started wondering who should play who in the live action version of these films... HERE @ wednesdaydreams *NOTE: I KNOW ANASTASIA IS NOT A DISNEY FILM. I JUST INCLUDED IT IN BECAUSE I LOVE IT.

So, if you remember, i posted a couple months ago, saying i was planning on being Belle for halloween. After a lot of sewing (and a lot of procrastinating) the gown was finished, and myself and two other princesses, Cinderella and Aurora, went on a picture taking spree through our university campus!
( I've chosen a few pics to show you all that (i hope) give you a good view of the dress! )

Hello!

Lately, I've been reading fanfiction stories on ff.net by TrudiRose - I'd discovered her stories a year or so ago, and decided to revisit them, and now share them here. If you haven't heard of her before, she writes mostly Beauty and the Beast fanfiction, and many of her stories involve Gaston. I think she's a very good writer, and I highly recommend her work! Well, I've been wanting to do this for a while, and I've finally decided that this year for halloween i'm going to dress as Belle! I plan on doing the full ball gown, because it's gorgeous, and i've bought a pattern that should be pretty easy to tweak to make it look like the dress. But i'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas, suggestions, or tips for me before i start? I haven't gotten any fabric yet (there wasn't enough of the one i liked at my local fabric store, so i decided to go over my options before i bought anything), and i'm not really an amazing seamstress, so any tips would be great.
The pattern i bought is for a dress that looks like this

I plan on changing the stole/shoulder area to an off the shoulder look like belles gown, and drawing up the skirt to make it a little more floofy (for lack of a better word).
Any suggestions on fabric types and colors would be great. I also need to make a pair of gloves, so if anyone has any ideas for that, it'd be great too!
