Butt-ne?
I don't know what to call it exactly. Bacne has a name... Back + acne = bacne. Brilliant.

Well, I have the buttne. I have butt acne. All over my bum. All over it.

I've tried using the Neutrogena Grapefruit Scrub every night on my bum hoping that I don't know, that it would do something... plus I adore the scent.

Any recommendations on products I could use to clear up my bum?

Please & thanks.

I recommend using Amlactin actually. it's lactic acid based and clears up pores. It's a moisturizer, and i use it to get rid of KP. It's at most drugstores. I have a feeling the scrub irritates your skin too much, causing more inflammation.

I think I'll look into that.

i got that to. a few helpers, don't pick at it, try not to wear tight underwear and use STRONG STUFF. try oxy gel wash (10% benz) and then follow up with an acne lotion. if you have acne on your face use the same stuff. it works. but it takes time. mine's almost all gone :) i know your pain

i use neutrogena body clear body wash for my back and it works alright. i would also recommend not using anything scented (i mean everything has a smell, but not everything has a fragrance added to it) on your skin as these chemicals can cause more irritation and thus more pimples.

i hate that (almost) every part of your body can get acne! face, neck, arms, legs, hands.... grr. i don't have to deal w/ acne except the occasional pimple on my face/shoulders, but i know everyone's pain. been there, done that :P

ditto to all of these comments. try not to pick at it & make sure you don't OVERWASH as that can irritate acne as well. also, i know this may sound weird, but make sure your laundry detergent as well as your shampoo/conditioner aren't irritating your skin. just google it and im sure you'll find some more info.

hope all goes well :]]

I wouldn't use a scrub every day, it will irritate your bum even more. Also, make sure you wash your back/bum with soap after you get done conditioning your hair, that stuff has given me a few pimples on my back because it doesn't get rinsed off completely.

If you think the exfoliating part helps with clogged pores, you might try a loofah or a washcloth instead of a scrub, it's a little more gentle.

As for the acne part, you could try using those acne pads that you can use daily, just apply after your shower so it'll work all day.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I have THE WORST butt acne right now and I don't know where the hell it came from... so I feel your pain.

i have no suggestions but i'm glad you posted this because for some reason this has been happening to me lately too. there's nothing in the world that can make you feel less sexy than having bum acne.

I KNOW! I'm horrified that my boyfriend has noticed. I'm so self-conscious when I'm naked now!

my ex had butt-ne and he narrowed it down to sweat clogging the pores of his bum and becoming zits. He rubbed deodorant on his butt (Certain Dri) and it all but disappeared.

This comment made me lol IRL. ;)

On the serious side though, unless you KNOW your acne is being caused by sweat, I wouldn't use an anti-perspirent because I'd bet it'd clog your pores. :(

That is the most common problem. Especially if you sit all day (in classes/at work).

I have to wear black synthetic dress pants to work, to sit in the bus and drive all day, and it's feral by the end of the day.
Added to that is the fact that I suffer from hirsutism, so I have a hairy bum as well.

I feel so very un-feminine.

mark used to make something called Butt-Fixing Cream. It's been discontinued, but I bet you can still find it on eBay. I HOPE you can still find it on eBay because that stuff worked.

Wear cotton underwear, don't wear tight pants too often, and wash your butt after conditioning your hair (if you condition).

this.
cotton. underoos. srsly.
they don't have to be granny-panties, but cotton boyshorts are awesome for everyday- save the lacey/satiny/poly/junky materials for special occasions.

Use anti-acne medicated pads such as Stridex on your bum, preferably at night before bed.

I know this is gross but clean the toilet seat. My bum breaks out when I have to clean the toilet seat. If you live in a dorm where the bathroom is shared try not to sit on the seat. Also use a clorox wipe on the seat before you use it.

Whenever I have a breakout on my body (almost always, it happens on my butt - why oh why???!!?), I tend to use my face care products. If it works on my face, it should work on my body (although don't use body care on your face). I make sure that I am taking care of my butt in a similar way that I take care of my face. I make sure to wash it at least once a day. Sometimes I will use toner on it. I use a salicyclic acid spot treatment on it. Also, make sure that you're wearing cotton, or mostly cotton panties to let the skin breathe. If my butt is acting up, it's boyshorts (which is fine, b/c my husband thinks that they're sexy, and doesn't realize I'm hididing my butt's grossness). I would not scrub every night, I think it might be makign things worse. I would scrub every other day, or even just twice a week if possible.
