Hi. I have a question. I apologize if it's been posted before, I checked the tags and couldn't find it, but as I'm not sure about it, I could of missed it. I just got a new haircut about a week ago. Cut about 6-8 inches off. I now have a shaggy, layered, very textured, shoulder length cut. My hair is naturally wavey. My stylist, whom I have been going to for about 4 years now, told me how to style it to get the look I want (simply I want my hair straight, with the ends flipped out), but I can't seem to get it to obey. Even trying to use a straightening gel/foam/etc. doesn't seem to work with it now that's it so light. Of course I have tried my flat iron, but that doesn't completely work either.

So I guess my questions come down to:

1) How do I get my hair to straighten and yet curl out the ends?

2) My stylist suggested using texturizers to make the texture stand out, but I have never used any other styling product besides hair spray, so I have no idea what I'm looking for, what's a good price, good brand, etc.

Do you dye you hair then get it trimmed/cut?
OR get your hair trimmed/cut and then dye it afterwards?

There is probably no proper way of doing it, but I'm just curious what other people do.

Hey guys, I am not here to ask if this thing works because judging from the reviews and videos I have seen, it's the real deal. WHat I am here to ask is has anyone ordered it from the website? I mean they advertised it being these easy payments, but they're adding an extra $35 I think. I am wondering if anyone has ordered one and how much they actually ended up paying. Now I know the 2 for 1 offer is good, but I just need to know. Thanks in advance!!

So, after a long hiatus from awesome hair, I went to the salon yesterday and said give me something that won't need a ton of maintenance since dropping $150 every 6 weeks is, well, feasible if you're a movie star but not if you're a stay-at-home mom.  So the stylist says, let's go blonder!

Now, don't be fooled by my userpic, it's ancient and my natural color is a dishwater blonde, so blonder isn't much of a big deal. And yet somehow, I came out of there with some really golden blonde hair. Which would be great except that I'm very pale with very cool skin tones, so I'm left looking ever so slightly like I'm rocking a wig. It's seriously not flattering.

Unfortunately for me, with a newborn and a toddler, getting a few hours of free time to get my color corrected at the salon is somewhat problematic. I need to get this fixed though, pronto. Do I have to just suck it up, call her and make some sort of arrangement for babysitting so she can fix this, or can I tone it down myself - and if so, how?

Thanks for your help, beauty101!

Hey kids.

I have combination skin and right now i'm out in the woods every day getting sweaty and dirty and my usual aveeno sensitive redness relief stuff is not cutting it. i have pimples EVERY where. But I also get eczema on my face so i have these weird red bumps sometimes too. I want to try the grapefruit stuff from nutragena (sp) but I'm thinking it might too harsh. I just need something stronger then what I am using.

My boyfriend has the same situation as me with combo skin. He always has bumps on his forehead and sides though, whether they come to a head or not. And he has like psorisis in his eyebrows/eyelids sometimes too.

Any facewash suggestions for us? Not too drying since we're sensitive babies.

Thanks! :]

But two weeks ago I stubbed my big toe on my left foot on the coffee table and about a centimeter of nail came off from the tip, about a day later the left side of my toe got infected, it's just starting to clear up now, the skin still feels hard and tight, but it's much better than it was. Three days ago the right side of my toe started swelling and oozing yellow puss, gross I know. Is there anything I can do to speed up healing, soaking it in something perhaps? Or has the nail (probably) started growing back as an ingrown nail and do I need to go see a doctor?

so I dyed my faded brown w/ some blonde highlights hair today trying to do a dark red (which is my go to color). I decided on Feria for my hair... and of course, only my roots took the color. so now i have red roots and brown hair. I don't want to go and get color oops because the rest of my hair is dyed (albeit faded) and i don't want to fuck it up anymore than it is.

so what do i do?

1. go and buy a different dye tomorrow and redye my whole head again

2. try to go to a salon (which i dont want to do, don't really have the cash for it, and if i went, i'd go to my stylist who i love but is expensive).

opinions? i'm pretty sure im just going to find a dark brown dye tomorrow and do it, so what brand would you recommend. i'm not going to try feria again, and ive used the garnier fructis without problems - but any others that are good?

Hello all-
i am having the hardest time finding basic black & white sandals. I would like something along the lines of the Steve Madden Seeri sandal (the basic T strap) in all white. I am also looking for the same kind in black but that's not as hard.
i would like it to be:
-all white
-no jewels, obvious silver or gold metal
-nearly flat with no heel
-comfortable if possible!
-around $20-40 if possible.

like these:

or it doesn't have to be T strap like these:

Hey guys, in your opinion what's the best box haircolor for dying hair a brown with no red or orange in it? Think kinda Ashley Tisdale.
I was thinking clairol perfect 10 or loreal superior prefence but can't decide on a color. Opinions on those? Opinions on fekkai hair color? Jennifer 4n dark brown looks like a beautiful color!
Thanks :)

I was thinking about buying Frederic Fekkai's Marine Summer Hair Beach Waves spray.  It's gotten a lot of good reviews but it's kinda expensive ($23). Does anyone know of anything similar that is less expensive, yet still works well?  Thanks!

I usually go to MRH for these types of Qs,
but they are not answering me anymore. :/

I need hairstyle ideas.
Sooooo....

What would you do in my situation?

1. I don't want to have bangs
2. I don't want to cut it TOO short unless I find something really nice. Just because I feel like longer hair is better on me (I have a chubby face)
3. I need something easy to manage, as I'm a mom, student, freelancer, saleswoman, and NOT a morning person.

Alright Ladies (& Gents) I have two questions, the first being: Recommendations on kissable lipstick please?

After a search in the community memories, I found entries pertaining to long lasting lipstick (in particular, I was searching for good ol' classy red). However, I haven't really found anything that solves my problem/answers my question. My boyfriend loves when I wear red lipstick, he just hates the fact that he can't kiss me. I usually wear Urban Decay Gravity and Revolution with their Gash lipliner.

In general, I've limited myself to Avon, Urban Decay and Bare Escentuals products. I have wanted to try other products but didn't know which brands/what products to try. I'm a simple gal when it comes to makeup- eyeliner, mascara, blush, foundation and then the red lips. I rarely do up my eyes, but when I do I sway to purple. So, my second question would be recommend some other colors for me to wear?

With and without makeup )

Is anyone slightly baffled with Forever 21's Faith 21 Plus Size?

I can sort of fit in L shirts and etc, but because I have evil, gigantic boobs, so I often have to get XL shirts which Forever 21 doesn't offer. When I heard about Faith 21, I was rather excited, but they are too big for me. Does anyone have that problem or am I just a freak who is right between regular-sized and plus-sized clothes in that store? Btw I am not dissing Forever 21 for plus-sized clothes. I am actually glad that they finally offer plus-sized clothes (not much, but still it's better than nothing).

What are the new fashion trends for this fall and winter?

1.) Our dog has fleas again because apparently he has developed an immunity to whatever flea medication he was on. We plan to fleabomb the house next week (it's technically my stepmom's dog so she is doing it) but in the meantime I have been bitten and beaten! There must be at least 30 bites that I know of on my legs and ankles alone. I noticed the bites a week ago and they are still there- I am not entirely sure if I am getting new ones or if they take a longer time to heal than other types of bites.

I have been using Cortizoid to treat the bites and the itching. I take Claratin D and another anti-histamine daily. Problem is, I think I'm allergic to the bites. The itching is overwelming... like at times I feel like it is consuming my entire body. My entire body feels this vague feeling of itchiness, like I am being overwelmed with histamines. I guess I want to get rid of the bites as soon as possible and prevent any more from happening. It's embarassing, and I want to wear shorts and dresses again!

Have any experience with fleas?

2.) I know summer isn't the best time to focus on removing freckles because we tend to cover our skin up less, but I decided that when the weather gets cooler and the warmer clothing comes out, I want to work on getting rid of my body freckles. I certainly don't have many-- but I do have some on my left shoulder because I tend to wear off-the-shoulder tops on that particular side, so it ended up getting more sun the last couple of summers. I have been wearing sunscreen daily whenever my arms are exposed, but I would like to get a regime set up so I can begin it in a couple of months. What's the best way to fade freckles ?

I have a fair ivory complexion, and there are about 4 larger freckles I would like to fade on my arms and shoulders, along with a dozen of fading smaller ones. I'm guessing I could use strong products/methods on this area of my body since the skin there is more resilliant.

Anyone have any success fading their own freckles, on the body specificly? About how long did it take you?

3.) Also: I know one of the unexpected culprits of sun damage happens when we drive our cars. My other car (now totalled D:) had tinted windows that filtered out UV rays. My current car does not. I always keep sunscreen handy, but I actually wanted to find a pair of fingerless driving gloves (lol I know I'm ridiculous). Where can I get a quality pair?

Annnnd while we are at it, any places online for relatively inexpensive, adorable parasols?

Would you splurge on bags or shoes? Why?

Which do you tend to eye more and spend the big money more often on?

Also, what are your dream shoes/bag?

If shoes and bags aren't your thing, what do you personally invest on?
