has anyone taken vitamin d before for their skin? what were your results, if any? i love the way my skin glows and looks so bright during the summer when i'm out in the sun more, so i was thinking about taking it for when i'm inside during the cold weather. what do you think, will it help?

So this Friday I'm attending something called "The Naughty White Party" it's technically a last chance party before reading break but all the money made from ticket sales are going to the red cross to help Haiti
The whole theme of the party is to wear white because "there will be tons of glowsticks and Black Lights!"

here's my problem. I don't own anything white!! Except for maybe a white t-shirt :/ the reason being is that I'm 5'8" and 220lb, I'm basically an amazon so I tend to lean more towards black, neutral and earthy colors since they're more slimming on me and don't quite draw attention. White makes me look heavier than I am.

So I'm just looking for some fashion advice. What should a girl my size do? What would you wear to an all white clothing party? Should I just go for it and try and find a cheap white mini dress? Should I just wear my white shirt and some jeans? :/ I don't wanna look or feel like an idiot.

Thanks so much!

I'm interesting in contouring and highlighting my face to give it some more definition. I'm fair skinned so I don't need anything too dark. I also hate looking shimmery. What would you recommend using as a matte contour shade? What about a highlighter?

I'm using MAC Blot powder to set my foundation and keep the oilies at bay. I'm curious about trying one of the silica based setting powders like MUFE HD powder or MAC's Prep + Prime powder. Opinions? My skin is sensitive and acne-prone, so I'm a bit hesitant about these.

Thanks guys!!!

I lost the mate to one of my favorite pair of earrings. They were a gift from my ex's mom and all I know is that she got them at a boutique. I don't feel comfortable asking her about them though. I have seen the same design in magazines and in other boutiques (none of which are close to me, of course!) so I think it's quite common.

What I am asking of you all is to see if any of you ave seen this design anywhere on Etsy, boutiques, anywhere, everywhere.

Please help me restore my favorite pair of earrings.

Thank you so so so much!

Hey, I'm pretty make-up impaired, so forgive me if this question seems silly. :P

I like the look of eyeliner. Right now I use Neutrogena's brand. However, I've found that regardless of how much I smudge it or how gently I apply it, the look is too harsh for my liking (I have very pale skin but otherwise very dark, almost black, features). I do, however, really like how eyeliner looks the next day, after I've slept in it (bad, I know!) because it's really subtle. What can I do to emulate that look?

Thanks :-)

Hi! I am considering about ordering this dress.

Which shoes do you think will go with it? :-)

Hey all! A few questions I hope you guys can help me with. :)

1. Lately, after I've put on my makeup, I feel like my skin just looks sickly and blah. I currently have been used Bare Escentuals makeup, but I'm thinking about making a change. Does anyone have any suggestions for a tinted moisturizer that has relatively good coverage, but helps skin look more luminescent?

2. I'm currently using Olay Daily Regenerating Cleanser and like it a lot. However, it has some micro exfoliating beads and I'm concerned that daily use will irritate my sensitive skin (that's prone to redness). Are there other Olay face washes you could suggest? I'm open to other suggestions as well. I have combination skin and rarely break out.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

for years i have been looking for a good foundation. years.

nothing ever really works for me. it's either too orange or pink, too chalky, too drying, makes my pores look huge, or disappears within a couple of hours.

i hate going into work in the morning thinking that i look good and then going home to look in the mirror and see that all of my makeup has disappeared from my face aside from some chalky foundation that is clinging to some newly dry, flaked skin.

again, i have been trying different foundations and primers for YEARS. i go to different beauty consultants and ask for advice and color match-ups. nothing ever works.

have any of you found your miracle foundation? i'm at a complete loss, and i need help.

here is a list of foundations and primers i've tried recently and really, really hated, despite their raving reviews:

primers
smashbox photo finish foundation primer
benefit dr feelgood
bare escentuals barevitamins prime time
urban decay complexion primer potion - pore perfecting
urban decay complexion primer potion - brightening

makeup forever hd microperfecting primer

foundations
makeup forever hd invisible cover foundation
bareminerals spf 15 foundation
everyday minerals foundation
benefit some kind-a gorgeous

any suggestions? i have dry to normal skin, though my pores are large.

I'm sick of wearing neutral eye shadows and I'm looking to experiment with different colors but I have no idea where to start. Any advice/recommendations would be great please. Thanks in advance.

Just to follow up on the last post about getting a makeover, I finally got contacts today. Unlike ten years ago when I tried them, I've been able to put them in and take them out more consistently this time.

I still have a few questions, though. One, in regards to work/dress clothing, what type of jacket would lengthen my body better? Before, someone mentioned about how the jacket I wore seemed to make my torso look stocky, which can be seen here:

Would a longer jacket be better for my body shape? I saw sales at Sears and JC Penney for dress clothing and thought about getting a jacket that fits by body better, but I didn't know which one to get.

Also, are skirts considered more professional at an interview than pants? Does it not matter?

Another thing. I tried some Clinique redness relief cream and it seemed to reduce the redness on my face, although the cream is designed for rosacea. The price tag is almost $40. For those of you who have tried this cream, is it worth the price tag? Did it make you break out? Although it appeared to help some what -- at least once -- shea butter is listed as an ingredient, even though it's supposedly a non-comedogenic product.

My hippie friend has shoulder-length hair that he straightens the hell out of and it's fairly oily at the scalp, but dry and damaged closer to the ends.  He doesn't shampoo every single time he washes his hair, but he did today and it's still nasty.  Haha!  He usually conditions every time he washes his hair and he USUALLY washes his hair every day.  Ish.

Any product/treatment recommendations for this kid?  Thanks guys!

I am from central Arkansas, so snowstorms are very rare; however, I currently live in Washington, DC and a snowstorm hit DC this weekend. My tennis shoes are completely ruined, and I realized that I really need to get winter/snow boots.

Any tips? I don't really know very much about winter/snow boots, so any advice would be great.

Also, if you guys know anything about washington, dc, please point me to some places that sell not-so-expensive winter boots. My budget for winter boots is around 100 dollars if that helps.

I really want to try some Lush Shower Jellies but the closest store is an hour and a half away (give or take) from my bf and I's home. So I am wondering, has anyone ordered Shower Jellies online? I am worried about the melting in the mail.

I know this has been discussed many, many times before, but I checked the memories & couldn't find what I was looking for.
Does anyone have a picture of their eye lashes after using olive oil?  Before pictures would be great, too; I'm mostly looking to just see how significant the results are from using it.  I've heard of using castor oil, too - does anyone do that?  Or other oils?  Why does it work?
Thank you so much for any help!
