Hello lovely ladies! (and perhaps gentlemen?)
I don't think I have posted here in a very long time, so most of you won't remember me. Recently I had something happen to me that I really don't know where else to turn to to feel better! I was out shopping with my boyfriend, and a man was staring at me, I looked away and he says "excuse me miss?- are you expecting" EXPECTING! I am most certainly not! I had no idea what to say, so I did what came natural - I bawled my eyes out. I also have a customer at work who is convinced I am pregnant, I told him the first time I am not but every time he comes in he goes "oh still no baby? these things take time" I have worked there 11 months- that is a very overdue baby!
Its true, I do carry most of my weight in my stomach, and have a tendency to wear empire waist shirts/dresses but to myself, I don't look pregnant. I have gained winter weight and am working on it, but it has come to the point where I am scared to go out, I am scared to wear my favorite dresses because maybe they do make me look fatter, I suck in my stomach until it hurts trying to not appear pregnant. In the couple weeks since that incident occurred I have been able to think of nothing else.
I don't know what I'm looking for by posting this, maybe some reassurance that this has happened to other people? That I'm justified in thinking that old men should keep their mouths shut unless a woman is POPPING PREGNANT? I just don't know, I just need to get this off my mind, off my chest and start thinking that I have BEAUTIFUL CURVES again. *sigh*

| Plus size model call: Portland Oregon |
[24 Apr 2009|10:55pm] |
This call is for a show I will be curating in November 2009. Yay! Spread the word near and far! Thanks.
Plus size model call Portland Oregon. Kina Williams Photographer http://kinawilliams.com and Bertha Pearl of Size Queen Clothing http://www.sizequeenclothing.com are teaming up to bring you a big fat conceptual multi media show at the Q-Center Nov 2009. Would you like to come play with us?? We are looking for plus size models size XL to 6XL in Portland Oregon or immediately surrounding areas. Preferably women/female (self identified) and/or queer or gender bender identified. We want people who are joyful in their bodies and shameless in their expression of their curves and rolls. We want people who love being photographed. We want people who won’t hesitate to show off their bellies, butts, thighs , arms and hips... and have some fun with us, regardless of experience with this kind of thing.. Shooting dates will run throughout the summer in Portland Oregon, so if there is an extended period of time that you will be away from Portland please let us know those dates in your response. We will be working with professional and amateur makeup artists. If you have an MUA you already work with please introduce us. Bertha will be doing the styling. Kina will be executing the themes through set design, location and post production techniques in her photography. Each photo session will run approximately 2 hours with the entire process of makeup and styling taking up to 4 hours. Shooting dates will adjust if the weather isn’t right for the theme, but will be rescheduled for the next possible day. Currently we are putting together shoots for “steampunk” “cirque” and “southern belle”. The rest of the concepts have not been solidified at this time. We will be shooting anywhere between 6-10 themes. You must be able to sign a legally binding model release form in order to participate in this project. Can’t flex on that one. This is a barter based model call. What we have in return for your time/effort is 10 web res and 5 full res images from the session fully edited, deep discounts on prints from the show (it is also my goal to artfully frame them in recycled materials), a pair of boxers OR a pair of bloomers from Size Queen and a discount on any merchandise in the store including the outfit you modeled. If you are interested please respond by contacting kinawilliamsphotographer/ at/ gmail /dot/ com with MODEL CALL in the subject line. Please send a head shot and a full body shot (low res images ONLY) they do not have to be professional pictures, but we need to be able to see you. We will also need your standard measurements (bust, hip, waist height) and please introduce yourself…we’d love to meet you!! Please feel free to post widely…and thank you! Cheers!! Kina Williams, Bertha Pearl

Ugh. Well here is my deal. I eat like shit, and I know that is why I feel like shit. I have packed on a good 20 pounds over the last six months due to stress and lack of any form of exercise. I have climb back up to 190 pounds, and I can feel it! My backaches and my knee pop. I feel bloated and gross. I really need a nice healthy way to detoxic my body from all the gross food that I have forced into it. I really am thinking of going Vegan. So my questions for all you wonderful peeps are...
Do you have a good website for vegan meals? Is going vegan expensive? I am a very very poor college student. An suggestions for the best places to find good quailty foods?
Thank You soooo much!

Greetings All!
I'm pleased to announce our next Brickhouse Betties Munch to be held at JB's Restaurant @ 7:30, April 1st. This month’s speaker is the renowned belly dancer Bastet who will be speaking about being fat and body positive through Belly dance.
Bastet is well-known throughout the United States for her dynamic, double fan dances, a whirling fan technique she began developing nearly 9 years ago and that she continues to develop today, emphasizing 3-dimensional layering of belly dance movements and fan technique, and making her a much sought-after instructor. More recently, she noticed the similarities between her fan technique and those of Chinese fan dancers, and now seeks to incorporate Chinese fan and dance technique into her own repertoire.
Bastet’s style is constantly evolving. Her continuous training in multiple styles of belly dance including Egyptian Cabaret, Raqs Sharqi, Tribal Fusion, and American and Improvisational Tribal Style (ATS and ITS), as well as Chinese dance and modern pop-n-lock, open the doorway for exciting and unusual new forms of fusion. You never know what Bastet will pull out of her hat, but you won’t be disappointed.
More info on Bastet can be found on her website: http://bastetfusion.com/ Clips of Bastet’s amazing performance style can be found at:

Brickhouse Betties is a fat and body positive group that provides a safe space for fat identified people and their admirers to openly discuss matters of sensual, sexual, and emotional health without fear of judgment. Brickhouse Betties is a group that is Fat Positive not Skinny Negative and our intention is to focus on the beauty and uniqueness of our bodies without disparaging the uniqueness of others.
We hope to see you there!!

Okay, so Old Navy plus size jeans are both erratic in sizing and give me a jeans penis (if you've had it happen you know what I mean). LB Right Fit are okay, but I want to have more than one pair of jeans.
So if you are a size 24, don't like jeans penis, and don't like super high waisted jeans (like LB jeans used to all be), what do you wear? I need some.

| maternity shopping |

Hey ladies, I hope it's ok if I post here about this. I'm currently 12 weeks along with my first baby! And I'm getting to the point where I know I need to get on maternity shopping, but I feel pretty dumb 'cause it seems I don't know how to do this. I'm big enough that most of the largest maternity bottoms in stores like Target and Wal Mart already don't fit me so I can't get an idea of what size I currently need. So I'm looking around online, finding some really cute styles at LB and Ebay and such, but I have no idea what size to go with. Do I start with buying the size I already wear, assuming the clothing will stretch enough to accommodate me for a month or two? Do I go up a size? Do I buy 3 different sizes to cover me for a few months? I also appreciate any suggestions for websites with way cute maternity lines :) Thanks so much for any help!

| Garter Stockings for chubby AND short |
[16 Feb 2009|06:12pm] |
I got some stockings like these:
(Link NSFW if you can't tell from subject) http://www.mydivascloset.com/segast.html
But to have them be a large enough size for me I got the plus size... which is great except they are WAY to tall for me. I'm about 5'4 170 pounds...
Anyone ever encountered anything similar in chubby AND short?
I'm trying to avoid buying a whole garter belt because I don't need it THAT often but I guess that may be my only choice. Not even sure if individual stockings can be found for short fat legs.
