And now for something completely different...
I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in these, but I already had 'em up on my server, so I thought I'd share. :-) Here are some portraits of the Beatles, created by the late, great artist, Al Hirschfeld. Even if that name doesn't ring a bell, you'll probably recognize his work once you've seen the pics.

I also posted the photo I used for this icon, for those who were interested.

CAPTION: The Beatles legendary "Yellow Submarine" sails once again on Sydney Harbor in front of the famous Sydney Opera House, Wednesday, September 8, 1999, after a 30-year rest to launch the release of a new Yellow Submarine Album - different from the sound track of the voyage that was sailed in the 60's. The new album will feature songs by The Beatles never heard before. (AP Photo/Delly Carr)

Wow, how cool! I like Al Hirschfeld's unique style... He lived until he was... how old? 95?

That is cool. :)

I just thought of the crazyness of cartooning. Have extremes on their features... lol... George's unibrow, Paul's eyebrows, Ringo's nose, etc. lol...

Those were great. Thanks for sharing.

Kat =^..^=

Al Hirschfeld is probably one of my most favorite cartoonists ever, so this is much appreciated.

Do you happen to have any bigger versions of these pics, though? Half the fun of viewing Hirschfeld's work, in my opinion, is trying to find his daughter's name, Nina, hidden in the drawings. :D

I agree, but unfortunately, I haven't found any bigger pics. I did spot "Ninas" in two of these, though. :-)

Thanks for that. T'is brilliant.

Was the Yellow Submarine an actual habitable submarine, or just a mock-up? Because it would be really cool, you know, to be in it.

I'm not sure, but I was assuming it was fake. I can't tell if it's moving or stationary in the photo - the caption is the only info I found on it.
