Couple of excerpts from Detroit. I bought a new camera for Warped, thinking i'd be far back - and instead I buy super-pricey all-event passes and stand at the back of the stage. Totally NOT what I got this camera for, and it couldn't cope. Going back to my old camera for the rest of my Warped dates. (Dammit, I could USE that $200... but it's a nice camera and I'll use it SOMEWHERE along the line)

Dearest customer,
it is 7.30pm. Our store closed at 7pm. Our opening and closing hours are clearly stated at the entrance. No you can't come in, even "just to buy a loaf"; the door is open only because my co-workers have to bring the waste in through the front before we leave for the night (this is because people have set fire to our cardboard waste in the past so this needs to be brought in every night), all the tills have been turned off for the day and the shutter at the customer service desk is down. We have homes to go to as well.
Me.
Seriously, this kind of thing happens nearly every Saturday night, people trying to come in after closing and seem to think we can switch everything on again just to suit them. >_< I'm so glad I'm finishing working in retail in a few weeks.

For those spoiler ho's out there, who else is excited about the so in your face obvious Mohinder and who know who parallels? I hope I am being vague enough but I am so excited. And everyone looks gorgeous and in top form so far, yes even that character thankfully. And that thing, oh I have predictions and it makes me happy and worried in a good way.
I didn't re-read the first hour recap but from what I remember, September can't come fast enough!!!!!

What dashing heartthrob is a secret butt pirate? The B+ list actor has been seen with more than a few beauties but word on the downlow is that he has a kept boyfriend whom he prefers to whatever eye candy he currently has on his arm. A gay extra on the set of one of his hit films (of which he had many in a short period of time) noticed the young actor almost desperately going out of his way to befriend the openly or perceivably gay members of the crew and extras, even going so far as to try and invite himself to different get togethers formed by cast and crew members who'd befriended one another. On the set of the sequel, the extra noticed the same borderline predatory behavior and made a point to avoid the actor, to no avail. Later, after many failed attempts on the part of the actor to befriend the gay extra, a frightening incident occured. One night after leaving the set with a few others, he noticed a familiar black SUV in the rear view mirror, with an even more familiar face behind the wheel. It was the actor. After a wild goose chase across Hollywood in which the young men were clearly being followed, it ended as abruptly as it started, coming to a stop when the SUV mysteriously gunned in an opposite direction after the young men pulled through a gas station. To top it off, there are still longstanding rumors that he and another key player in another very successful film franchise had a long term relationship for the lengthy duration of filming on the (overseas) set. I can't give you any strong hints (well, I did give one at the beginning of the paragraph) but I can tell you that both his first and last name could be found in a dictionary.

 " Le ricamatrici " è uno di quei film che sono felice di aver preso, quasi a scatola chiusa, perchè ne sapevamo poco e niente.
E' una trama molto bella e molto ben raccontata, ambientata in un paese della campagna francese, nella quale la protagonista Claire si sente soffocare.
Aspetta un figlio, sapendo già di volerlo dare in adozione dopo il parto. Corrisponde con Lucile, una sua amica trasferitasi per motivi di studio a Lione, e anche a lei trova il coraggio solo a gravidanza ormai avanzata di parlare della sua situazione.
La sua passione di ricamatrice la porta a contattare una donna ben nota nel paese come ricamatrice, una donna al quale è morto un figlio - rimasto vittima in un incidente insieme al fratello di Lucile.
Quello che inizia come un rapporto di lavoro temporaneo nel laboratorio della donna, diventa poi una vbellissima amicizia.
In molte scene predomina il silenzio, ma sguardi e dialoghi sono così ben dosati da mantenere comunque il film scorrevole e per nulla pesante.
Proprio una bella pellicola, credo la rivedrò presto.

Because of this cough, I haven't been able to get a good night's sleep in forever so it was no surprise that I had a hard time waking up this morning in time to go pick up Sharky from the kennel. But I managed to make it there early enough that it wasn't crowded with too many animals.
Once I got him home and we played around a bit (but not too much since I can't be full on wrestling with him like I normally do), we settled into bed and damned if I didn't fall asleep and manage to take a 3 hour nap!
Not only that, but when I woke up, I happened to have the tv on Food Network and watched Paula Deen make some deviled eggs and I thought "Mmm..., that looks good." Not enough for me to get dressed, go buy eggs, boil them, then make them myself, but I'm pretty sure my appetite is coming back since I'm craving something other than applesauce, pudding, or jello.

Впервые провела массовую чистку ленты друзей. Если вдруг кто-то не увидит себя в списках, то обижаться нечего - либо нет взаимного контакта, либо по ряду причин вы стали мне не интересны. А такую роскошь, как раздутую без причины френд-ленту, себе позволить не могу.
Отдельно обращаю внимание тех, кто со мной вместе до вчерашнего дня был во френд-ленте одного известного нам всем журнала - если вам так хочется в знак солидарности с владельцем того ЖЖ расфрендить меня, то не вопрос. Во всяком случае узнаю истинную цену вашей дружбы. Истерик устраивать не буду, не дождетесь.
НО в моем журнале и в своей френд-ленте я не позволю устраивать истерики, буйно замешанные на желании дать кому-то в морду. Лучше запишитесь на курсы тай-бо - и окружающим спокойно, и у вас нервы в порядке.
Да, и не забывайте - я таки против того, чтобы вас отправляли в Дахау. Но если позволите себе оскроблять тех, кто лояльно/нейтрально относится к евреям/геям/толстым, то сами получите в пятак. И мне для этого даже усилий прилагать не надо будет - на вашу истерику всегда найдутся желающие вдать успокоительным.
Так что прощевайте. Мне, конечно, будет вас не хватать, но жила я как-то до вас и имела прекрасный цвет лица.

The results are most interesting. At this moment,
28% say it's ethical for a fan to profit from Publish and sell zines they edited for profit if the fans contributing stories get a cut and
Self-publish your fannish stories, bind them, and sell them for profit? is considered ethical by only 23%
while
Sell jewelry you made at cons for profit? is ethical according to no less than 94.6%,
Sell clothing you made at cons for profit? to 91.1% and
Sell handsewn, costumed fannish teddy bears at cons for profit? to 89.3%.
Can someone explain away the difference between those two categories*?
What's the difference between creating a written story and sell a copy of that, or creating a costume/jewelry/teddybear and sell copies of that? Is the one less "legal" (for lack of a better term) than the other? Is it because it's easier to make new copies of a story once it's written, while a piece of jewelry can only be sold once? Is it because one is something you can actually hold in your hand (jewelry, teddybears) while the other is more intangible**? Or are we seeing a kind of Pavlovian reaction in play that OMG Selling fanfic is badbadBAD?
I'm just curious what people think.
* And why is self-publishing worse than contributing to a zine, and is jewelry more ethical than teddybears??
**Copyright/trademark holders seem to a clear idea on this. I remember a story not too long ago about someone who made knitting patterns based on Dr. Who (I think...I'll have to see if I can find the original article again). The PTB's kept a blind eye, until someone else started using those patterns to sell stuff on eBay. Then they came down like a ton of bricks.

monday nothing:
tuesday:
i watched 3 kids and there was so much going on that my brain couldnt handle it. FInally finished screencapping the covenant cos the internet was down....again.
wednesday
:prepped for DZ meeting, went to the docs, got more meds, and started fasting for the bloodwork i was to have on thursday. Went to said meeting and ate like a pig cos I had to fast. All went well. I lovr my sisters and im really sorry i didnt go to concord to be a part of their chapter. They are great women.
Thursday:
mom came down, had my tooth out at 1:00p,. IT hurt REALLY bad. 4 needles in my mouth to numb around a tooth that was close to my sinuses, which I already have problems with. mom stayed here till mike got home to make sure i was ok. i actually had to take the lortabs this time i was in so much pain. it was as painful as being in the hospital after my aneurysm. we dont make it to get my bloodwork done and by the end of the afternoon, I am starving and dehydrated from the fasting so i have stomach cramps and im throwing up.
friday: woke up throwing up and mom had to make an emergency trip down here i was feeling so bad. i was throwing up while trying to feed shannon. husband calls then tells me he could have left work and came home. he knew damn good and well how i was feeling when he left, but went to work anyways, and got bitchy cos i called mom who lives an hour away. she came down and took care of shannon and jennifer. mike comes home at 1:00. i ask why, nd he said : cos you're laid up in bed" i had to...now ya tell me asshole, after my mom skips a day of overtime to come help take care of me and shannon. i slept all day long. i was in excruciating pain. i prep for a wedding and a DZ yard sale im supposed to help work. i feel too bad, so i go to bed early.
this morning:
woke up at 1 am throwing up and having tummy problems. too many narcotics will mess with your system. this lasted till 2:30 when i finally got back to bed. got back up at 7:30 to get ready for yard sale and felt so bad that i thought i was gonna cry. i was in that much pain. so i lay back down and decided to skip both events. mike gets up and takes a bath, i soak my feet in the tub and har a knock at the door. i went to get it, and me and my wet feet slipped , thnk god i caught myself but in the process i caught my big toetnail on the edge of the door and part of it came off. the rest will come soon. my friend anita was at the door and she cam in and hung out while waiting on her mom to get off work. i feel asleep on me, i felt so bad that i HAD to take more pain killers. my toe was killing me.
this evening:
i am supposed to me at my best frien from college's wedding. i told ver via phone and internet both that i would be there. mom in law even bought my dress. i feel like shit. she is like a sister to me and weve had our ups and downs. i hope i dont lose another friend due to something stupid. i just felt so bad. i guess due to healing from a brain injury, the small injuries in life are magnified.
i lit a candle a lil bit ago, in hopes that i can get some healing and peace restored to my body. hanue as usual your words of wisdom will be taken with ease..............................
