unfortunately I don't think there's much we can do about here - you might want to contact Time-Warner and at least log your complaint in about the delay btwn the country movie premieres
what scar? the one above his left eye just below the eyebrow? - even lightening the pic via photomanip software doesn't bring his left eye into view clearly enough to see the scar
Yeah, I see what you mean now! The one that's made to look a bit more visible in Sharpe? But I always thought it looked like he had a line kind of like a / sign above his left eye, several centimetres above the eyebrow. Thought that was the scar referred to ( yeah, have seen Patriot games but only once! ). That line ( wrinkles don't go in that direction, do they? ) seem to be on the right side of his face in the above pic. But what do I know, maybe wrinkles look like that..? ;-)
I see what you mean but now that I look at the two publicity shots below - there appears to be two lines angling on his forehead - I'm wondering if it isn't something to do with the plot of the movie (replacement parts and cosmetic surgery?):
I think I've seen it in other pics of him too lately..? But anyway, about it being a plot thing, I think I heard somewhere that he was one of the people making the decisions and as such he wasn't allowed to get "replacement parts" himself because that would make his decision partial. So really his job required a big sacrifice. Think it was mentioned in that documentary thing...
and considering the fact that he's telling someone that two of their 'projects' have escaped and they have no soul, etc. he's not exactly being entirely forthcoming - I'd say it would make sense that he could possibly have had surgery of some sort himself
Uhmmm... perhaps not documentary, but there were interviews with both Sean and... whatsisname... the main character guy... *scrolls up* Ewan McGregor and I think some people involved in production. It was the first "the Island" thing I saw, and probably was/is on the movie's official site! You've probably seen it! ( I don't think there's anything Bean-related that I know and you don't..! ;-)
okay - you're talking about the bts interviews with Ewan, Sean and Michael Bay (the director) and I don't recall Sean ever saying that his character could not have had surgery or a clone because it would make him lose his impartiality
the video is available at 'The Island Yahoo Movies site'. It's titled 'Self-Discovery' Sean, Ewan and Michael discuss how the movie has made them take a personal stock in their own views on cloning in real life.
Well, I'm sure I heard it somewhere. That he was the one who decided about the clones and if he was allowed to have clones of himself he'd abuse that right of decision... something... But I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on, since I seem to be constantly wrong here... ;-)
I don't think you're wrong any more than the rest of us are - if that clip or snippet of dialogue or interview is available in which Sean says that his character cannot make that sort of impartial decision if he's allowed a clone of his own - I'd love to see - I'm sure we're all looking for as much info as possible on this movie and Sean's character - so need to shut up
*glares @ stupid, constantly crashing computer that refuses to show the pics of the video clip thingie*
Well, you were right! It wasn't there. But I'm still sure I've seen it somewhere... Could be one of the articles or something... I don't think I dreamt it, but if I did, it's a great plotbunny for a fanfic..! ;-p
actually if you look at these - I think you can see just the barest hint of that 'line' starting when he was involved with 'National Treasure' and we've all noticed that he seems to have lost weight since the principal filming of NT - I'm wondering if the lines deepened when he was working on 'The Islando'
So I think we can agree that it isn't any specific makeup for "The Island". I'm guessing it's a sign of ageing maturing... But the funny thing is, my Alec Trevelyan action figure has just such a line, only above his left eye..!
wondering if make-up, lighting and general conditions can make the 'line' more visible? - like the scar above his eye and below the brow - there are times when it is completely and total visible standing out and other times it is far less visible almost invisible
I don't think that so far the materials released for 'The Island' have specifically stated - it would appear that he is a research biologist specializing in cloning...
LOL - does it count if I say I've got some little boo-boos on my fingers from where the girl that did my nails last night was bit 'rough' - can we say "ouch!" - now if Dr. Bean...er I mean Dr. Merrick would like to administer a bit of first aid on my fingers I'd be ever so grateful *sigh*

But waitaminnit? Isn't that scar supposed to be above his other eye?
