Wish purse
I have learned the peyote stitch and have made a couple items. Here is a tiny little purse I have made. The body of the pure is peyote stitch then folded in half. The strap is a square stitch and then I just stitched the strap to the sides to form the purse body. I used Toho round beads. ( In here. ) | 3:52 pm [heatherp8]

Bored Beader
Greetings from drizzly, not sunny, Florida. Yours truly is recuperating at home following surgery. These days I spend most of my waking hours on the couch, either reading, sleeping or watching TV. The latter usually only at night. Yesterday I had a visit from my beading buddy Keli who brought me the latest issue of Bead Style magazine. New Member!
Hello all! I am new here.. and looking to get into beading as a hobby. I scanned the memories for a related post to this, but found none.. so apologies if I missed something and this is a repeat post! I am nickel sensitive, so I am looking for a website where I can purchase titanium or niobium fish hook style ear wires and other jewelery fixings so that I can actually wear the stuff that I create! I am in Canada, so I would prefer the site to be based either here or in the States for cheaper shipping rates. Any help offered would be appreciated! Thanks! -Victoria Current Mood: artistic | | Friday, June 19th, 2009 | 4:55 pm [kathy_kostinsky]

Earrings I haven't posted here is a -very- long time, so here are a whole lot of pics of what I have been making lately! I get a lot of vintage-inspired charms and findings on etsy, so there are many different components to my jewellery... I love mixing materials and beads, deconstructing old jewellery, and coming up with interesting colour combinations... I'm loving antiqued or brass-looking findings right now, but I still use lots of gold and silver... Please take a look, and let me know what you think! ( Read more... )

Jump rings trouble
Hello! I'm new to the community, and somewhat new to beading in general. I'm mostly self-taught so I've had to learn a lot of things the hard way -- trial and error! All of my jewelry so far is in my LJ Scrapbook. My biggest problem is with jump rings, and I'm hoping you all might have some advice. I've been using sterling silver jump rings to attach clasps and such, and I find they very quickly pull apart or get pulled out of shape when the jewelry is worn. Now I'm afraid to use jump rings in my jewelry, especially pieces I give away or make for friends, because I don't want it falling apart after just a couple of wears! Is there anything I can do to make my jump rings stronger or more secure? Most of my jump rings are 22 gauge; would it help to use a larger gauge? Stick to silver-plated base metal instead of pure sterling? Thanks for your help if you have any ideas! | | Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 | 11:28 pm [kathy_kostinsky]

Eni Oken pendant/brooch
I haven't posted here in well over a year. :-O I had a baby and only just got started again. I made this pendant, from a pay-download Eni Oken tutorial, the other week, and the brooch was made about a year and a half earlier! ( Read more... )I can't recommend this tutorial highly enough - it's pretty straightforward if you have a bit of wire experience, and the instructions and photos are really detailed and helpful. | 4:54 am [rozziejewelry]

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of my jewellery, mostly because when I installed new printer cartridges in my printer, the scanner portion of said printer ceased to function. But anyway, I found Ye Olde Digital Camera (My brothers iphone takes higher resolution pictures) and got some shots of a pile of old earrings that have been laying around forever waiting for pictures, and some new stuff :) ( Pictures! )I'd love any feedback and critiques you have as well, especially on the necklaces which are more recent work. Excuse the terrible photography. | | Thursday, May 28th, 2009 | 1:35 pm [ameliamunster]

Zulu Spearhead Chain
I'm a newbie, Heres a cell phone picture of the bracelet I'm currently working on: ( picture )It's the only beadowrk I've ever done and it's taking me forever to finish! I'll post better pictures once I take some / complete the bracelet :) | 10:32 am [dark_phoenix54]

Hi, I'm new here! I finished this bracelet night before. I love the pattern and love the beads, but I made it a little too long for my wrist and it drapes down over my hand. Pretty, but impractical! And I shortened it some from what the pattern called for, too. I have sticks for wrists. :( The pattern is 'Pillars of strenght' from the August 2007 Bead & Button. Ed. to try and put behind cut (sorry about that!) ( And here it is: ) | | Monday, May 25th, 2009 | 11:24 am [shadowandstar]

"Wise Woman" Necklace
My teacher gave me a string of bone beads for Christmas -- and I immediately knew that I needed to pair them with a string of graduated amber beads that I've had for years without using. The focal pendant is also of bone. Unfortunately the carving isn't high-contrast. It's a feminine figure that looks like it could have been made thousands of years ago. Hello!
Hello everyone. I am a bit new to beading I have made a few necklaces, stitch markers for knitting, and carhangers. I am now looking for a pattern for making a Lilac pin. More of a 3 dimensional as opposed to a flat design. Would any of you know where I might be able to find a pattern? |
