TMG Preps Cast Details for Moby Dick
:snip: MUNICH: The Tele München Group (TMG) has added to the cast of its new screen adaptation of the literary classic Moby Dick, headlined by William Hurt as the one-legged Captain Ahab and Ethan Hawke as first officer Starbuck. Charlie Cox (Casanova, Stardust) plays the third lead role in Moby Dick as sailor Ishmael, functioning as the narrator of the story. Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto, The Blue Butterfly) plays his friend, the able-bodied harpooner Queequeg. Eddie Marsan (21 Grams, Happy-Go-Lucky) will play second officer Stubb. The cast is rounded out by Gillian Anderson (The Last King of Scotland, The X-Files) as Ahab's wife Elizabeth, Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) as Elijah and Donald Sutherland in the role of Father Mapple. Shooting started in Lunenburg, Canada last week and will be continued in Malta. With a total budget of $25.5 million, Moby Dick is the most expensive production to date in the 40-year history of the TMG. :snip: Article Here Current Mood: busy |

TORn Exclusive: Billy Boyd Interview
To promote their upcoming East Coast tour, ‘Beecake’ front man and LOTR star Billy Boyd chatted with TORN last week. Billy gave us a little insight into the band, his musical tastes and influences, and his feelings about the upcoming tour. Exclusive: Billy Boyd Interview! TheOneRing.netIt's a nice rambling interview, I can almost hear his voice as I read it Apparently, when the interview took place, Billy was filming in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada), for a TV miniseries of 'Moby Dick' (shades of 'Master and Commander'). Which would make sense, because the 'Adrenaline Junkey' thing was filmed in Canada too. More Billy! |

Shore on the Score: The Music of The Lord of the Rings Thursday, October 1, 2009 6:30 pm ET New York In Person Doug Adams, Author, The Music of The Lord of the Rings Films Billy Boyd, "Peregrin 'Pippin' Took" Howard Shore, Composer/Conductor, The Lord of the Rings films Moderator: MTV's Kurt Loder The Lord of the Rings Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore had no trouble conjuring up music for great halls, evil times, or any of the scenes depicted in Peter Jackson’s epic adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s three novels about the great war for the “one ring to rule them all.” In anticipation of his much ballyhooed October 9 and 10 live performances of the full score of The Fellowship of the Ring as the film is screened at Radio City Music Hall, Shore visits the Paley Center to share his insights into his craft, and the many creative challenges posed by scoring The Lord of the Rings films. http://www.paleycenter.org/fall-2009-shore-on-the-score-the-music-of-the-lord-of-the-rings Current Mood: busy |

Billy / Beecake on TV Beecake twittered earlier that they "Recorded some stuff this afternoon for a Scottish TV show to be aired soon". Now there's another twitter from Kenny_Park, and I assume it's a pic from that show. http://twitpic.com/83awaSo, people in the UK should be able to see the show and it will be on BBC iplayer when it's been broadcast. :) |
