Welcome to The Barter Bazaar-o. This is a trading community for folks seeking and/or offering items unlikely to be easily attained, either in nature or quantity, especially "found" objects and material for art projects. Also welcome is dialogue regarding the reuse of "trash" and "disposable" items, thrifty living, and non-monetary commerce.
So what exactly is this community about? Well let's say that six or seven years ago, you had an idea for an art project that required hundreds of those little pull tabs you get from soda cans. You started saving them. Maybe some of your friends saved theirs, and gave them to you. Well, you got distracted, and have since started and finished dozens of other pieces. But you'd gotten into the habit of saving the pull tabs. You must have 3,000 of those sharp-edged little bastards now; they've followed you to three different apartments. They're a constant reminder that you can't finish what you start. You don't really want them. You... oh, let's just say it outright. You hate 'em.

bazaar_o is NOT ABOUT SELLING THINGS FOR CASH!!! This community was founded on ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF COMMERCE. 1. No selling, no selling, NO SELLING - this includes eBay auctions. Bazaar_o is a stictly trades only community. Please do not link to other journals if they clearly favor selling, even if you are willing to trade too. If you really need to sell something, and of course, sometimes you do, we suggest you use
goblinmarkets. 2. No illegal items - if you are bartering something that is legal but restricted (adult videos, weapons), we highly recommend requesting a signed 18+ or 21+ age statement from the party(ies) involved, and making absolutely sure you comply with all shipping laws. (Be especially mindful of international shipping laws. Did you know you can't ship many kinds of tea to Australia? It's true.)
3. We reserve the right to delete posts without notice or reason if they are obviously counter to the intended spirit of this community or violate the rules listed above.
4. Community mods are not responsible for trades gone sour, but we will attempt to mediate conflicts if need be. Deadbeat traders will be made public in order to protect the members of this comm.
