Hi guys. Turns out I have 2 extra tickets for the first show in San Francisco and everyone I know who's going already has theirs. Anyone want to buy one or both? I'll charge you what I paid, $26, so you're getting a deal on not having to pay processing fees (Ticketmaster is evil). You could either pay me via Paypal or in cash on the day, whichever works best. I think this show is sold out so hopefully someone will want these. Thanks, and see everyone there!

Looking for Vocalist & Drummer

Seeking Jrock Vocalist & Drummer!

akai SKY, a San Francisco-based American Japanese Rock (Jrock) band, seek a new male or female vocalist and drummer to complete their current line-up (guitar and bass). The band has been gigging regularly since 2005 at Japanese cultural events and local clubs and have gigs lined up throughout the rest of 2008.

This is a great opportunity for someone who's looking to join the American Jrock scene with an established band! The band members have a great love for writing music, performing gigs all across the country and having lots of fun doing what they love.

To hear some samples of the band's music or to learn more about its members, please visit http://www.myspace.com/akaisky. Please keep in mind that YOU ultimately have a big influence on the band's new sound and the music will evolve and change with your input.

Requirements:

Passionate about Jrock music

Committed to practice regularly in the San Francisco Bay Area (at least once during the weekend)

Able to take time off work/school to occasionally to travel to gigs

Vocalist must be comfortable singing in the Japanese language

Drummer must have own drum set

Age, ethnicity, Japanese language proficiency and skill level are NOT important. What is important is your dedication and motivation to succeed.

If you are interested, please contact the band at:
Email: info @akaisky. com
MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/akaisky
Website: http://www.akaisky.com

More about the akai SKY:
akai SKY stands as the premier American Jrock band in Northern California. The San Francisco-based band fuses Japanese pop lyrics and heavy rock sounds to create a unique mesh of music. The band tours all across California, as well as throughout the country, including Nevada and Texas.

The band played at venues celebrating Asian culture, such as Fanime's MusicFest with bands from Japan, as well as Anime Expo, the largest anime convention in the United States. With a plethora of shows under their belts, akai SKY strives to share their distinctive sound with the international music scene.

PS: This is getting cross-posted to a few communities

Hey everyone! As you all probably know, AnCafe will be performing at FanimeCon in San Jose next month. In addition to this being their first time performing in the US, this will also be Fanime's very first time offering JRock & JPop Video Programming!

As the one in charge of running the JRock/JPop Video Programming, I was asked to create some promotional videos for the events and, enlisting the aid of 24cylinders and her mad video editing skills, I present them to you now as a taste of things to come. It being the first time that the convention is offering such video programming, we're all very excited and hope that those attending the convention will be, too. And that maybe it might persuade some fence-sitters to hop on over and check it out!

<lj-embed id="1" />

<lj-embed id="2" />

<lj-embed id="3" />

FanimeCon takes place May 23-26 in San Jose, CA.
JRock/JPop Video Programming will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Midnight until Noon - perfect for the night owl, the insomniac, AND the early bird!
Hey everyone,

this is for the ppl going to Taste of Chaos at SJSU event center tomorrow...

If you're driving, make sure you're taking the 7th street exit in San Jose.. You go down 7th st and you should hit the parking garage as a dead end. Event parking is $10, and you can park anywhere from sections 2-H and above. Get out from the stairs by the 3-F and 4-F if you can, cause you'd get out closest to the venue and not at some random ass section of campus.

4th st garage shuold be open as well and is not so far away either (and probably less crowded) but if you have no idea how to get around SJSU, use the 7th st garage.

Also,
BE CAREFUL ABOUT WALKING AROUND AT NIGHT.
DO NOT WALK AROUND CAMPUS OR SAN JOSE BY YOURSELF WHEN ITS DARK OUTSIDE.
I know it might be common sense, but i'm just saying..This is for your own safety. Someone got mugged with a knife on campus village (the DORMS) a couple weeks ago >_< Please be careful.

And also, HAVE FUN ~ :D See you all there ~

I'm the bassist of an established Jrock group in the Bay Area. We currently have four songs, and we had a vocalist, but he's left due to the fact that he's moving. We're currently looking for a replacement vocalist.

In terms of style, we're leaning towards heavier VK. MUCC, Girugamesh, D'espairsRay, etc. We have one very rough demo up on our myspace (just guitars and a drum machine): www.myspace.com/bellemortelle

Also, although it is not a priority of ours, we're looking out for a second guitarist as well.

If you have any interest in either of these positions, contact me. Either leave a comment here, or send me an e-mail at fuzzurin@gmail.com

Thanks.

Seeking Jrock Vocalist & Drummer

akai SKY, a Jrock and Anime cover band, seek a new vocalist and drummer to complete line-up (guitar and bass). We have been performing around California consistently for over a year at anime conventions and other Japanese pop culture events. We also have several gigs lined up for 2007.

We’re looking for members who can be committed to practice at least once a week at our rehearsal studio in San Francisco. We need a vocalist and drummer to be available to travel to gigs occasionally on the weekends. Drummer must have his/her own drum set. Skill level is not as important as being motivated to play in a band.

We currently play covers of songs from L’Arc~en~Ciel, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, The Pillows and more, however we are also currently writing Japanese-language originals. Being able to speak Japanese is not a pre-requisite to be in the band.

For more information please contact us at info@akaisky.com. Also, please check out our Myspace and Website for more information.

Right now we need drivers, event staff, and people to help promote the event. If you`re interested please e-mail me are dorami-nyan@hotmail.co.jp . Please only mail me if you are serious about participating, we`re aiming to hold a professional event, not poorly thrown together. Thanks for reading! Let me know if you want in! And of course, we want a big audience, so let me know if you`re interested in in the show! All bands are Japanese, and have very little to no English skills so if you can speak/understand Japanese even a little bit it would help so much.

If I`m not supposed to post things like this here I apologize and feel free to delete ^^;;.

Again here`s the e-mail to contact me at, dorami-nyan@hotmail.co.jp .

Anyone please feel free to friend me to their LJ~ Anyways, thanks again!
