2 tickets avaliable for first Miyavi show in San Francisco 5/18 [Tuesday
May 13th, 2008 @ 7:13pm]

britgirlsf
Hi guys. Turns out I have 2 extra tickets for the first show in San Francisco and everyone I know who's going already has theirs. Anyone want to buy one or both? I'll charge you what I paid, $26, so you're getting a deal on not having to pay processing fees (Ticketmaster is evil). You could either pay me via Paypal or in cash on the day, whichever works best. I think this show is sold out so hopefully someone will want these. Thanks, and see everyone there!

  • Able to take time off work/school to occasionally to travel to gigs

    [ mood | busy ]

Hey everyone! As you all probably know, AnCafe will be performing at FanimeCon in San Jose next month. In addition to this being their first time performing in the US, this will also be Fanime's very first time offering JRock & JPop Video Programming!

As the one in charge of running the JRock/JPop Video Programming, I was asked to create some promotional videos for the events and, enlisting the aid of [info]24cylinders and her mad video editing skills, I present them to you now as a taste of things to come. It being the first time that the convention is offering such video programming, we're all very excited and hope that those attending the convention will be, too. And that maybe it might persuade some fence-sitters to hop on over and check it out!

    Promo Clips )

FanimeCon takes place May 23-26 in San Jose, CA.
JRock/JPop Video Programming will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Midnight until Noon - perfect for the night owl, the insomniac, AND the early bird! Exact location to be announced.

    Hey everyone,

this is for the ppl going to Taste of Chaos at SJSU event center tomorrow...

If you're driving, make sure you're taking the 7th street exit in San Jose.. You go down 7th st and you should hit the parking garage as a dead end. Event parking is $10, and you can park anywhere from sections 2-H and above. Get out from the stairs by the 3-F and 4-F if you can, cause you'd get out closest to the venue and not at some random ass section of campus.

4th st garage shuold be open as well and is not so far away either (and probably less crowded) but if you have no idea how to get around SJSU, use the 7th st garage.

    Also,
BE CAREFUL ABOUT WALKING AROUND AT NIGHT.
DO NOT WALK AROUND CAMPUS OR SAN JOSE BY YOURSELF WHEN ITS DARK OUTSIDE.
I know it might be common sense, but i'm just saying..This is for your own safety. Someone got mugged with a knife on campus village (the DORMS) a couple weeks ago >_< Please be careful.

And also, HAVE FUN ~ :D See you all there ~

I missed the Polysics and Peelander Z when they came around in October. Anyone know of any good Jrock shows before April? The last good one I went to was over the summer and I need my fix.

    Thanks guys.

I found this magazine called POPJNEO and it had a review of Phantasmagoria, Jinkaku Radio, Uchuu Sentai NOIZ, etc. at the KINGDOM ROCK SHOW in HIBIYA!! And the cool thing is that the whole interview is in ENGLISH!! And it has a bunch of bad ass pics of the whole bands taken during the event!! I've never seen any pics of this event so I thought it was rare! (At least that's what I thought, lol)
I'd up some pics, but my stupid old scanners not working... X _ X

It seems like you can purchase this magazine from their website~

If any one's interested, I say you should definitely purchase this magazine!!

I'm the bassist of an established Jrock group in the Bay Area. We currently have four songs, and we had a vocalist, but he's left due to the fact that he's moving. We're currently looking for a replacement vocalist.

In terms of style, we're leaning towards heavier VK. MUCC, Girugamesh, D'espairsRay, etc. We have one very rough demo up on our myspace (just guitars and a drum machine): www.myspace.com/bellemortelle

Also, although it is not a priority of ours, we're looking out for a second guitarist as well.

If you have any interest in either of these positions, contact me. Either leave a comment here, or send me an e-mail at fuzzurin@gmail.com

    Thanks.

Tired of going to jrock roleplay coms that all happen to be dead? Or your favourite jrocker is taken? Mods that are too strict? Well- that's pretty much all of us.

Yoshinkai University is an AU Roleplay community where you can RP as your favorite JRocker. You can be either a student or a teacher, and dorm rooms will be assigned. All JRockers from all bands are welcomed. From X-Japan, to Ancafe, to Dir en grey. Dead JRockers are welcome, too. So why not join?

Well, the community's just open so there's lots of spots left!

Seeking Jrock Vocalist & Drummer [Monday
    November 20th, 2006 @ 10:37pm]

    moriyama_umi
akai SKY, a Jrock and Anime cover band, seek a new vocalist and drummer to complete line-up (guitar and bass). We have been performing around California consistently for over a year at anime conventions and other Japanese pop culture events. We also have several gigs lined up for 2007.

We’re looking for members who can be committed to practice at least once a week at our rehearsal studio in San Francisco. We need a vocalist and drummer to be available to travel to gigs occasionally on the weekends. Drummer must have his/her own drum set. Skill level is not as important as being motivated to play in a band.

We currently play covers of songs from L’Arc~en~Ciel, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, The Pillows and more, however we are also currently writing Japanese-language originals. Being able to speak Japanese is not a pre-requisite to be in the band.

For more information please contact us at info@akaisky.com. Also, please check out our Myspace and Website for more information.

Our [cover (<-- for now)] band, Rococo/62, is currently looking for a second guitarist with similar music interests!~ We play English music (... theoretically) as well as Japanese and French music, but focus on harder J-rock or pop/rock.

Our band currently consists of a bassist, a guitarist, a vocalist, and a drummer (all female).

    We're looking for people who:
    - live in the tri-city area (Fremont, Newark, and Union City)
    - are within the 13-17 age group
    - can provide their own equipment (meaning electric guitar + amp)
    - are willing to come for band practice in Fremont on a regular basis (2 to 4 times per month)
    - have at least a little bit of guitar experience
    - are NICE!!~ :DDDD

It's alright if you're just starting guitar!

Konnichiwa. I just joined this community^^

Favourite band: Oh, that's difficult... MUCC, Ayabie, Alice Nine, Gazette, High and mighty color, Luna sea, Pierrot, Sid, Moi dix mois...
Favourite song: Hana Uta by Duel Jewel
How you got into j-rock: First of all, you must know that Japan is my favourite land in the world. I like everything that is Japanese: food, language, history, art, people, cities, fashion, and so on. But still I had not listened to any song in Japanese, and I was sad about it. So I googled 'j-rock', discover a lot of music rotation sites, listened to samples and went directly to yesasia.com^^
And now I listen to Japanese music 24 hours per day.

hey, I made some icons featuring j-rock idols. Link to my lj to see them.
