Nip/Tuck getting the axe!

Fall TV Press Tour: Nip/Tuck Canceled

FX is pulling the plug on the critically acclaimed drama Nip/Tuck.

But don't panic. There are still quite a few hours of surgery and self-esteem left to air. Eight new episodes - the remainder of the strike-interrupted Season 5 - will hit the air in January 2009. Then, a final, 19-episode sixth season will wrap up the series in early 2011.

John Landgraf, the netlet's president and general manager, announced that series creator Ryan Murphy will remain on board as Nip/Tuck's showrunner through the final episodes. -- Mickey O'Connor

If 8 episodes of season 5 will air in 2009 and we'll see the last episode of season 6 in 2011, are they going to split the 19 episode 6th season by playing half of season six in 2010 and then the other in 2011? If that's the case, I wonder how long we'll have to wait to see the episodes of Nip/Tuck that Katee Sackhoff is in.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Katee Sackhoff has filmed some episodes of Nip/Tuck and I thought fans would be interested to hear there might be a wait to see the episodes that she is in.

But it does have, at least at little, to do with BSG. I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but some of us appreciate the updates on the actors, producers, and writers associated with BSG. And when the show airs it's final episode in 2009 I hope this community doesn't call it quits.

Personally, I like the updates on the actors' other projects. Some other people seem to as well. So we stay and you go. Seems simple enough to me. No need for "important" announcements on where you'll NOT be.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was hoping Katee Sackhoff would be picked up as a regular on the show but I see that's a no-go now. If you hear anything about what she's doing next please let us know. I need my Starbuck fix. lol

Oh no! :-( I really like Nip/Tuck, but six seasons is a good run for a show of its nature.

No Nip/Tuck in 2010 would suck though.

(And it's kinda cool that Julian McMahon is the son of Prime Minister Sir William McMahon!)

Dude, I didn't know that! I'm not a big fan of Nip/Tuck or JM but that's pretty cool! Heh, though I didn't know for sometime he was a fellow Aussie XD

Poor Katee. Everywhere she's headed has seemed to die. Hope she finds something new quickly.

I'm still wondering whatt Jamie's next gig is going to be and wondering even more because he's no longer listed on the Steeltown imdb site.

Ok,so the show is canceled but will end in...2011?That's odd.And it gives me no hope that we'll see Katee's episodes any time soon.

We'll probably be watching her in lots of other stuff already when her N/T part airs. *sigh*

Too true, Tahmoh's career is fine. As is he. Damn, I should've jumped him at the Burbank Con. Now that he's going to be Whedon-fied, it's going to be even harder to snerch him.

You know, I'm glad that you mention EJO and Mary. I've been worried about the others and I guess I just assumed we'd be seeing the parents in lots of stuff. But that might not be such a sure thing, huh?

I hate when there are so many actors on a show that are so good and then after the show, you don't see them much. Such a waste of talent. Yes, I'm still bitter that Giles and Xander are nowhere to be found on my TV screen. ;-)

Hmmm, lets see, the show (BSG) is over, done filming and there are at least six months before we see any new episodes. I can't see that there is much to talk about that is BSG-related in the interim besides what projects the actors are working on now that the series is over. I mean, other then Con appearances everything else has been talked about and rehashed right?

Keep those actor updates coming as I want to know more about what they are doing and how the shows/movies they are involved in post-BSG fare.

The point I was going to make exactly. I've never seen Nip/Tuck and I think Burn Notice and The Cleaner weren't very good, but I still like to hear about what people are doing.

I had never seen nip/tuck. But I heard Katee Sackhoff would be in it, so i was going to start watching it. Does anyone know about her episodes? I heard they were starting filming on her episodes like a month ago. So, does that mean they'll air at some point? I hope so. I need me some Katee.

and um, I think it has plenty to do with BSG, not directly, but close enough considering the show is in hiatus right now and there really is like NOTHING wlse to report other than what the cast is up to. This is the kind of stuff I want to know about.

As much as I like Katee I'm more concerned about one of my favourite shows ending well. I hope they have time enough to wrap up N/T in a satisfying way.
