| Title: Party On, Garth Universe: DCU, circa 1966 with dashes of later additions and attitudes Genre: Humor Rating: G Characters: Robin, Aqualad (Garth), Wonder Girl (Donna Troy), Speedy (Roy Harper), Kid Flash (Wally West) Word Count: 440 or so Summary: The newly formed Teen Titans have their first party! But one member has never been to a party on dry land. The Brave and the Bold, #149, revealed that Wonder Girl had a previously (and subsequently) unmentioned power: the ability to exactly imitate any voice after hearing it once. That was the germ of this little tale, which has grown past that moment without yet growing a real structural spine. But it seemed valuable to put out something for this week's contest. | Title: Swimming Lessons Universe: DCU/General Genre: Family Rating: G Characters/Pairings: Dick, Tim, and bit of Bruce Word Count: 292 Summary: Tim can't swim so Dick tires to teach him. It doesn't go too well though. So inspiration struck me, though I'm sure Tim actually can swim. I'm just going to pretend he couldn't. Also, please excuse my use of the phrase fish out of water x.x ( “What comes naturally is to sink like a stone.” Tim said darkly. ) | |
|
| Title: Unnatural Habitat Universe: DCU (DC Comics Universe) Genre: Drama Rating: PG Characters/Pairings: Titans!Dick Grayson, Garth (Aqualad) Word Count: 236 Summary: Teammates sharing a moment at Titans Tower. ( Unnatural Habitat ) | |
|
| Title: Just A Date Universe: DCU Genre: Drama/General Rating: PG-13 Characters/Pairings: Jason, Tim; Jason/Tim Word Count: 377 Warnings: A semi-sequel to Of Sex And Scars (which is rated NC-17). Summary: When Jason asked Tim out on a date, Tim wondered why and felt out of sorts since they had already shared a bed. Why a date? ( Tim stared at Jason blankly... ) | |

| Title: Fish Are No Laughing Matter Universe: DCAU-sorta Rating: PG Genre: Humour Characters: Joker & Harley Word Count: 500 Notes: Knowledge of the BTAS episode "The Laughing Fish" may be beneficial, but not strictly necessary! Summary: Harley thinks all her Christmases have come at once, but there's one teeny little problem... ( Usually this would be just about the sexiest thing Harley could possibly imagine. ) | |

| Oops, I screwed up. I wasn't paying enough attention to this comm and didn't realize I had missed the day to post the voting post for our most recent theme last Thursday. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for being a less attentive and active mod lately. In truth, I've been becoming burnt out on both LJ and Batman, and sadly this comm has suffered for it. I will always have love for these characters, but I find that love hard to sustain at full fangirling level without something going on to fuel the fire. And right now, there is nothing Batman-related that I am following, no comic book series or TV show, and no movie coming in the immediate future.
I have no doubt that my love for the fandom will come back in the future. Perhaps even in a few months, who knows. But right now I am not doing this comm justice by my lack of interest in Batman.
I'm truly sorry. You're all a very talented bunch of writers and it's been a lot of fun running this comm.
We have two options. I can put this comm on indefinite hiatus and possibly pick things up sometime in the future when I feel committed again. Or I can appoint a new Moderator to run things. I myself have not written Batman fic in months, and maybe I would feel like writing again if I didn't have to run the comm, who knows.
So, I will listen to what you guys have to say. Maybe you would like a break from writing here too for a while. Or if you want a new mod, then please say so and we'll see if someone volunteers. | |
