Hello! Welcome to Bat City, my extremely originally titled Batman RPG. I originally founded this based on extreme boredom and the desire for a little more Batman in life. We're mainly a slashy community with NC-17 elements, but we do try for a mix (we even like to think we have a plot!). Anyway, if you're interested, come on in!

This alternate universe takes place pre-crisis. Nightwing is in Bludhaven, hanging out. Tim Drake is Robin. Jason is dead (for now...?). Babs is in a wheelchair. From there, the world is your own. This is strictly a make your own way RP. There will be random events occasionally posted by the mod (me!), such as 'a blizzard strikes Gotham' or 'Waynecorp has been robbed for 34,000 dollars', but for the most part, find someone you want to roleplay with, contact them on AIM and start a scene. Try to include everyone!

Posting rules. Personally, I think it would be nice if each character posted at least once a week, meaning every seven days. I understand that people have lives. Really. I kind of have one too sometimes, but once every week isn't hard.

Also, you need an instant messager (AIM works best). And remember to save RP logs and post them...because if you're playing Bruce, only by reading the RP logs will anyone know what is going on in your head.

I decided it was time I typed up some basic RP rules I would prefer /everyone/ follow. That means you. It also means me, of course, but that’s beside the point.

1. NO original characters. I don’t mean minor characters. Like, if there needs to be a police officer in a scene whose beaten half to death, or some victims to be killed, fine. I mean characters who are going to affect the RP permanently or who you plan as Rping multiple times. If you have some kind of doubts about whether a character is appropriate to use in the RP, ASK me. Kage. The mod. kagechikara@yahoo.com if I’m not on AIM, comprende?

2. Don’t edit character’s backstories. Please. I know its an opportunity to bring it extra-angst, but stick to canon. That’s all I can think to say on that.

3. No bunnying. For those of you who don’t know, bunnying is posting for someone else’s character. For instance, if I say, “Bruce swung and hit Joker across the head, knocking him out”, I’ve just committed the cardinal sin of bunnying. Never assume, /especially/ in combat, that a strike hits home. Always give the other person the benefit of the doubt.

4. For that matter, don’t use someone else’s OC. I know, I said no original characters, but if someone uses a minor character, they probably have a point for it being in the scene. For instance, if Joker was torturing someone, and I said, “Batman swung and hit Joker, while the woman scrambled away..” I’m using someone else’s character. Don’t put dialogue in a minor character’s mouth, either. Its bunnying and is bad.

5. I know this is reiterated everywhere, but try to use correct grammar. You don’t have to spell everything right or use complete sentences, because god knows I don’t. But just try to get some semblance of understandability across.

6. If you have a problem with anyone or anything in the RP, /please/ come to me. That’s not a rule, it’s a request. I’m not the world’s greatest mod. I made this RP because I was about this far from killing someone if I didn’t get some Batman RP.
