DA RULES

IMPORTANT CHANGE:
It has come to my attention that the film industry, in all its infinite proprietary wisdom, has begun to threaten litigation (law suits) against anyone who uses its rating system (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, X) for anything other than movies. With that in mind, I must ask for you to indicate the rating of your fic in a different way. (PLEASE USE A METHOD THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE TO ALL [i.e., not the system that uses K as a rating please])!

I will no longer be changing posts to the community that have FRAO as the rating, either. For those of you who don't know, that stands for "for adults only."

Now, on to the regular rules:

Please note: If you have an empty journal--especially if your profile is empty--your membership request will be rejected!

1. Adults only. This means several things: Membership is by approval only, members must have their birth years in their profiles to be approved, and posts to the community will be friends only automatically. It does not mean that all posts must be adult. It merely means that I am taking precautions so that organizations like Net Nanny don't complain and shut me down.

2. All fanfiction entries must have subject lines that consist of rating, pairing, title (or untitled), and part/of parts or ? if there are chapters (e.g., 17-older, A/B/S As Yet Untitled 1/?).

3. All fanfiction entries should have headers before an LJ cut, with the body of the story after the cut. If you need help with this, I can show you a really easy way to do it using rich text mode that requires no coding whatsoever. (Honestly, that's the only way I can do it! I can't, for the life of me, get the coding method to work! LOL!)

4. The headers of each fanfiction post (including the beginning of each chapter, if posted in parts) must contain any warnings pertaining to squick or pscychological triggers such as BDSM, bloodplay, earning red wings, felching, noncon sex, violent sex, character death, suicide, gratuitous violence, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS. (If you have any doubts whatsoever about something in your story causing discomfort in others--or if you are unsure if any of the things listed here apply to your story--err on the side of caution, or e-mail the community owner before posting, please. There are a lot of sensitive people out there.)

5. Child abuse of any kind, sexual or otherwise, is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN unless it is used in such a way that it is shown to be wrong, such as the character being abused as a child and consequently growing into a wounded, tortured soul, as we saw with Liam. As this is a moderated group, these stories may be submitted, but please keep this guidelines in mind. Animal abuse or bestiality (sex with animals) is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN. This means no ritual sacrifices using animals, no poking animals for blood, etc. As Buffy, Angel, and Spike are not into witchcraft, this shouldn't be too much of a hardship. If our vamps want or need blood, they can feed off Buffy or each other or some other human.

6. AU stories are more than welcome, as long as they involve only the characters/pairings/threesomes permissable in this community for romantic/sexual involvement.

7. When posting an entry for discussion of any of these characters, or any combination thereof, please make your subject line a summary of your message. (PLEASE NOTE: This community is NOT for the discussion of the actors who play them. This is for discussion of the fictional characters only, in the hopes that the discussion will nurture the writers in the community to give the readers in the community more fic to read...and that's always a good thing!

8. Please do not post polls here, such as "Which Whedonverse character are you?" or "Which vampire are you?" This community is for fanfiction. The only polls to be posted here will be polls created by the maintainer for diplomatic decisions regarding community changes. Thank you.

9. Feedback: Please, please, PLEASE, feed the authors. The more you do, the more they'll write lovelies for you. Your feedback encourages them, and any constructive feedback you can give them helps them know what they're doing well and/or exactly what could use work.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FEEDBACK: Due to the fact that authors are required to put warnings in their headers for all squicks and/or psychological triggers, it is therefore the MEMBERS' RESPONSIBILITY TO AVOID UNCOMFORTABLE TOPICS. Should you encounter a topic that does not sit well with you, YOU ARE NOT TO HARASS THE AUTHOR OF THE STORY THAT CONTAINED SAID TOPIC. You were well and truly warned. Any harassment of an author for topics about which the readers received fair warning will get the harassing reader immediately banned from the community. This includes, but is certainly not limited to, "Angel and Spike aren't gay! Why are you writing them as a couple?" If the story says Angel/Spike or A/S and you don't want to read them as a couple, DON'T READ THE STORY.

10. ADVERTISING: Members are more than welcome to advertise their community-related communities, forums, groups, and sites here, as long the advertisement is either in their headers or, if it is the content of your entry, the subject line clearly states, MY COMMUNITY/FORUM/GROUP/SITE (whichever fits what you are posting. Please, do not post more than one ad per person per month, even if you start something new during the month. Sorry, but you'll have to wait a couple weeks to advertise it here. NO EXCEPTIONS.

11. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, HAVE FUN!!! This community is for recreation in celebration of two great television series that gave us the character and relationship development of three great characters. In other words, it's for fun. Fun cannot be had when community members attack other people. Because of this, no member bashing is permitted. No actor bashing is permitted. No relationship bashing is permitted. No character bashing is permitted. NO BASHING, PERIOD. Thanks ever so.
