I think it means Marshall is letting either Ted or Robin to use one of his slaps on Barney.

Oh, boo! That sucks...and might be hysterical. So most likely Ted and Robin will be fighting over who gets to slap Barney.

I wonder why Marshall does that- what does Barney do to tick both Robin and Ted off? lol

Yeah, I read that wrong at first - I was thinking that Marshall was giving one slap to Ted and one slap to Robin, and I was wondering why Marshall would give up both of his remaining slaps. Makes more sense if he gives away just one slap and makes Ted and Robin fight for it.

The Thanksgiving episode is also the episode where Robin is aparently not buying into the fact that Barney cooked and she wants him to re-do his recipe from scratch. That could play into the slap too.

I thought ep 9 was the one Neil was directing, but this still lists Pam. I wonder if it changed, or if the people at CBS just don't bother checking that because it's always Pam!

Yeah, I thought they said it was the "thanksgiving" episode that Neil was directing. So this has confused me since this must be it!

I remember reading "thanksgiving episode" in one interview, and "the ninth episode" in another, so put together... I'm thinking CBS error!

Either that or it got pushed to a different ep because of schedules or something.

Hmmm, if NPH did direct the Thanksgiving ep, I'd imagine he would have talked about it on Conan?

The episode it really makes sense for him to direct would be the big 100th episode as it's so Barney-centric?

I would have expected it to come up on Conan too, I was hoping it would. But I think that in typical terms - not that Neil ever does anything the normal way! - it's actually unusual for a first time tv director working on their own show, to be in an episode their character is heavily featured in. It's usually the other way around! I would expect it to be an ep focussed on one of the others so that Neil has more behind the camera time.

You know, (don't faint), I am actually excited about this episode. Perhaps I can just close my eyes during 7 and 8 and wake up happy in 9?
