I love working at a non-dt store. We actually got out on time, it was amazing. I like being able to only have to make 1 cube of cbb and coffee base instead of 5 of each, and that we can actually get our closing duties done without having the dt beep in your ear every five minutes and there are only 3 mats to clean as opposed to 9 in my old store and the store closes at 9:30 as opposed to 10 so I can actually go home and sleep before I have to wake up early the next morning for my day job.

I'm so glad you're liking it! I moved and had to transfer, and I was really worried about it, but my new store is so, so much better than my old one. I'm still at a DT, but I went from an extremely high-volume store in suburbia to a pretty slow store in a small town, and it's just so fabulous. I miss my old co-workers, but the decrease of stress is nice, yeah?

The decrease of stress is so nice. I hated closing at the old store because we were generally understaffed and the opening shift often didn't make prep. Our store was so busy too so we really couldnt get a lot of closing stuff done until we were closed to the public and then we wouldnt get out until close to midnight even though were were scheduled for 11 and closed to the public at 10. I hated when customers came in because that meant I had to stop cleaning or doing closing stuff which meant that I would have to be in the store longer.

Yeah, that's pretty much how my old store was too. Our mids usually did prep, at least, so we got out relatively on time, but whenever I closed, I pretty much resented customers coming in, and I hated that, you know? Because part of the reason I wanted to work for Starbucks in the first place was so I could have those kinds of barista/customer interactions that made me a loyal Starbucks customer, and I have that so much more at my new store. It's fabulous.

Yeah, it was nice because I didnt get flustered when a customer came in and I didnt have the headset so the whole environment was so much more relaxed and I actually got to "connect" with customers rather than being like "UGH GO home!!" (I wouldnt say that to a customer but I thought it many a time).

We're getting our first DT store within the metro Boston area and all the Financial District SS's were offered the opportunity to transfer. All the ones I know pretty much said HELL NO! (Going from 6 AM - 6/7 PM hours five or six days a week in most cases to DT hell on earth? They'd have to have been insane to say yes!)
