Long time lurker, first time poster. I apologize if somehow this isn't allowed.. but what tea is used to make the shaken black iced tea? I know it's Tazo, but they have so many different black teas to choose from! I recently bought a bottle of Classic syrup and I'm looking for the exact black tea Starbucks uses so I can make it at home. :)
For the record, I know this is a community for baristas. I have never worked at a Starbucks, but I go to Starbucks every single day.. sometimes two or three times a day. I think it's safe to say I have an addiction to it. |

It's my last week. It's been fun, but after my manager tried to get my fired, I got a new job and peaced out! Yes, I was the girl who got fired from a licensed store for...standing. And yes, my managaer at my new store tried to get me fied because I didn't close right? OH WELL no more Starbucks for me! |

| mean mommy! |

so i'm totally the mean mommy of the store and it's kind of exhausting. as much as i love our sm, he's just as a.d.d. as some of our baristas. i actually had to tell he and two shifts to "close the backroom door if you're going to horse around." i kid you not the shifts were actually balancing chairs on their noses. i was cleaning the drains.
that was a couple of nights ago. this morning/afternoon we were actually kind of busy, and in our downtime it seemed like the shift on duty and the other barista just.. leaned. and talked to one another. i had to ring and make drinks whilst pressing various coffees for my new passport. so of course things weren't getting cleaned and nothing was getting done.
hey... not my shift.
one of the chair-balancing shifts REALLY gets on my nerves. he's still in that whole "i'm a new shift" mode and comes off as condescending... which would be fine if he knew how to do his job. like, okay, this guy pulled out the bar fridge to sweep/mop behind it, but just left it there in the middle of the floor to fill up all 20 carafes then walk AROUND his incoveniently placed fridge. dumbass.
needless to say, his closes are really bad. he also insists on making two cubes of mocha daily when we need, like, half of one. he spends an awful lot of time talking to other partners.. and not really accomplishing much of anything.
so i brought all this up to my sm and found out there's someone else being developed before me. but transferring's an option, so maybe i can find something closer. i don't know, i guess i feel like if this kids are just gonna act out and screw off i should at least be in charge so i don't have to feel like such a nazi bossing them around. |

| | infuriated | ] | so we're lucky enough to be located across the street from a junior high AND high school. awesome.
we were right in the middle of our lunch hour frap rush when a group of about six 13-year-old boys come in to stand in line. one of them grabs two jones sodas. one of our baristas was calling the line, i was on till.
barista: can i get some drinks started for you guys? boys: (continue to talk, ignore her.) barista: cannnn i get some drinks started for you guys! boys: (talk, ignore.) me: YO. GUYS. boys: (talk, ignore.) barista: CAN I GET SOME DRINKS STARTED FOR YOU GUYS. boy: NO!!!
um ... wow.
i was so tempted to go up to them and be like 'hey, boys. i know you all think you're FABULOUS because you're 13 and you haven't gotten to the awkward zit stage of your puberty yet. but when you all come in and stand in line at a starbucks, we tend to assume that you want drinks. so make it easy for us ... don't all come and stand in line, and we won't pester you asking if you want anything. capische?' but i was the only person with a till at the time, and couldn't do it.
but seriously. kids today. are they all dicks? |
