| | So, I heard pretty much a deafening silence when I asked if anyone in the central Ohio area wanted to do acrobatics. What about juggling? I've got various outlets for juggling now, but it would be fun to meet and practice with more jugglers in the area, if any of them are on in this group. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Is anyone here (besides myself) a) from central Ohio and b) interested in learning acrobatics? A friend and I are trying to find more folks who are interested so that we have enough people to do different trick and to have spotters. | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Hey guys! The giggling gypsy here, now president and founder of the Official Bardic Wind/Barely Balanced Fan Club! That's right, I got the 'official' thumbs-up to get this project going, and the site has been updated and added to. You can now find the fan club at this address:
http://home.graffiti.net/jbert/barelybalanced/
I've expanded it from the 'unofficial' site, and with input from the guys, I hope to continue to do so. We're trying to think of benefits specifically for members of the 'official' club. If you have ideas on that matter, please email me! I'd love some input.

I hope you're all having some very happy holidays, and that your new year is cheerful and bright! | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| If any of you were planning to go to the Bardic Wind gig at Ravenwood Castle tonight, make sure to call the castle before you go. They're apparently having ice issues with their driveway, and said that they don't expect it to be passable for anyone who doesn't have 4-wheel drive. They're holding out with the hope that the guy who brings them gravel will call back soon, but so far they haven't heard from him.
For that matter, they haven't heard from the guys, either - they don't know if Cameron & Brandon themselves will be able to make it up the hill. There is nowhere nearby to park and simply walk up the hill.
So - call before you go. | comments: Leave a comment |
| | I went to the Great Lakes Medieval Faire this past Saturday. It was the first time I had ever been to a Medieval and/or Renaissance Faire, so I didn't really know what to expect.... Within the first few minutes of getting past the gate, a n attractive brown-haired guy came walkin along on stilts, bent down, and rested his elbow on my mom's shoulder and started flipping through her program to show her the schedule for the shows and to mention that we should go see Bardic Wind do some juggling, acrobatics, machete-juggling, and whatnot..... I'll admit, the main reason I wanted to go was because this guy was hot.... and i was interested in the sounds of the machete throwing and acrobatics.... so my family and I made our way down to the Human Chessboard stage and sat down and watched the show.... it was the most entertaining thing I've ever seen.... i wished i coulda see all of the shows that day... especially the fire show at 6pm... i used to twirl a fire baton so i was REALLY interested in seeing what they would do..... I would love to go see them at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in September, but I don't think it's gonna be possible. They need to come to Northwestern PA sometime before the winter comes. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| This is another heads up on celtic music/culture available in the Cincinnati area. I was talking to the drummer from Roger Drawdy the other day and he mentioned that there is a celtic music jam session every Sunday night at the Dubliner starting at 8.
He said it is super relaxed and fun and everyone is welcome, whether you are musically gifted or not.
If anyone ever wants to go, send me a message. I'm almost always game! | comments: Leave a comment |

I'm not sure if I'm going as I just walloped myself in the face trying to get the stupid metal lid thingy off a pringles can and am working on a puffy lip. (No laughing!) Have a good night all! | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| Hello all!
I just realized that while I posted in the comments to the last post, I've not introduced myself to the community yet.
My name is Emily. I'm a Cincinnati girl. I'm a bit of a costuming addict, so I went to the Ohio Ren. Festival four or five times this year (I lost count). After seeing Bardic Wind perform several times (heh.), I thought to myself "Hey, they're pretty good! I wonder if there's anything online about them? Google!" thus proving how much of a dork I am. I'm glad I did because I found this community and didn't have to start one myself. ^.~
So that's me. I look forward to having many wonderful discussions about crotches knives Bardic Wind. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

| This isn't Bardic Wind related, but I thought I'd ask for this group's help.
Well, it is time for another help-annie-with-her-job journal.
My orgaization is creating a program very similar to the Heartland Series, except ours is about the Ohio River pre-1950's. If you don't know, the Heartland Series is a tv program that does short stories (5-10 minutes) about various culutral, historical, and environmental issues in appalachia. Think PBS documentary boiled down to 5-10 minutes.
Somehow, As the education director, I've been given this project...
Anyway, now I need a catchy name for our program. Right now I'm calling it Ohio River Remebered. But that sux. As does Ohio River Heritage.
So, now it is up to you all! I'm now accepting submissions for the title of our new program!
Ok. Ready? Set. Go! | comments: 6 comments or Leave a comment |
