yeah, we got told to do the 10/5 for here too. So here's mine!

For those that don't know, the 10/5 is 10 things everyone should know about your character and 5 things you will do about faire.

This is Jennifer / Softpaw / Rose / Faylinn/ Whimsy..whatever you want to call me btw...yes I made an LJ for Faylinn :P Feel free to add it if you want.

1 Faylinn is the Queen's Whimsy and social secretary. This means she is both the embodiment of the queens inner child, as well as the one you go to if you want to do anything dealing with the Queen.

2. Faylinn is 235 years old, give or take a few years. She's been the Whimsy since she was 85

3.Faylinn comes from a troop of fairies that can turn into fairy cats. Which is why she has a pink tail. And why her little sister is usually about asleep in cat form.

4. Faylinn adores her job but adores Queen Titania even more. She will do most anything for her and is as protective as she can be of her.

5. Faylinn has a bad case of......OH SHINY!! ......BUTTERFLY!! .....YARN!! ......BIRD! ...MOUSEY!!

6. Faylinn has a harp and a basket of stuff. Messing with either with out asking gets you fussed at. And covered in glitter. This also goes extra for messing with her sleeping sister.

7 Faylinn has no real concept of stuff that will hurt her. Hey swords are SHINY!.

8. Faylinn likes tea, and all the lil cutesy foods that goes with it. Especially the sweet stuff.

9. Faylinn + sugar = super ultra hyper = STAY CLEAR!!

10. Faylinn loves flowers and mushrooms.

1. Play her harp for her Queen.

2. Keep track of who wants to meet with the Queen when. As well as anything else the Queen needs her to keep track of.

3. Bat at shiny things.

4 Blow Bubbles.

5. Help her majesty out as needed.

Those who are already cast in a major role, in place of an audition, will need to schedule a character introduction either during auditions or orientation.

It is recommended that you do not audition in costume as no characters (other than the obvious exceptions) are guaranteed until after auditions, and all costumes have to be approved. We say this as we do not want you to go to the expense of a costume for a character you may, or may not, play. You may, however, use props.

If you are wanting to perform as part of a duo or team all partners/team members do need to audition together.

Please..EVERYONE, don't get to bogged down in trying to make your Fae "accurate" to legends. Celtic legends are not the end all of faedome. Let your imagination free! The modern interpretation of fairies are just as valid as the old darker legends. Play! We're trying to not set as many rules for characters for this faire.

Though for research I really do recommend the works of Brian Froud.

If your really concerned, or just want to bounce ideas off me like Omega has been, feel free to email or poke me on IM with specific questions about fae Vannesa_Felis@hotmail.com

Pirates need to bug Eric *grins*

Here's some tips for those of you working on designing your fairy outfits.

You have no fabric or color restrictions for the Fae...I do still recommend you use as much natural fabric as possible for the sheer comfort factor. But since many of the best Fae fabrics are not natural, a mix of the two would be best. Prints on fabric are ok..but let’s really try to stay away from super modern looking ones...and of course..no SpongeBob or Transformer prints or the like *grins*

Christmas is coming so keep an eye out there for shiny things that would work as trims! Anything goes if you can work it in.

Flowers and other bits of nature can be used as trims as well.

Fabric can be airbrushed! And painted normally as well.

The wings I will be teaching you all to make work best if fitted down the back of a bodice/corset or inside a pocket sewn onto the back of your outfit. But if your outfit calls for the wings to be strapped on we can work with that.

You can take an existing outfit and Fae it up too! Like these here... http://www.fantasycouture.com/gallery.htm I know Julie has plans to do something like this.

If your needing inspiration look up fantasy artists like Amy brown, Nene Thomas, Meredith Dillman, Kathleen Lowe, Marjolein Gulinski, Jessica Galbreth, and Shelah Dow to name a few... or search for fairies on http://www.epilogue.net

And lastly..I will NOT be making you all coat yourself in glitter...like some Fae do..if you want to go for it..but I know some of you are "allergic" to that much glitter :P :)

oh..and there is one MAJOR restriction..not to worried about it right now with who we have on board currently but..should say it.

Fairies are not to show to much skin. If your worried its to much ask me and I'll let you know..but a good rule of thumb..if it wont fly at Disneyworld it wont fly here..

erm no pun intended..

[info]ericcaptdrake just posted this on yahoo..

there will be a Seelie (with a Queen)and UnSeelie (with a King) court as well as a pirate King & Queen and a pirate council or court. The basic story is the two Fae courts have united for a short time using their combined magic to bring the Pirate King & Queen and court or Barataria (The Pirate Government) to help them. Mankind has started to forget the Fae and are losing faith that they even exist. Now that the Pirate Royals and their Court or council is here the Fae hope to convince, glamor or all around bribe them to help however they can. Of course the UnSeelie King has his own goals and plans as well, and who knows how the Pirates feel about their current predicament.

So there is a basic outline. I will be posting more when we have details. This will be very This will be very interesting indeed.

Let your Imaginations abound!!!

And as I said in reply please don't get your heart set on trying out for a known Fae role such as Titania puck or Mab or any others. We don't know if we'll be using those yet!

And pirates! I've gotten a lot of Fae feedback but not so much with the pirates. Please remember we need those too.

This is going to be lots of fun but hard work and there will be guidelines to the roles we need filled.

*edit* Eric's told me we may be using some named fae so have at it if you want to try for one of them.
