Well, ok, maybe it's not so new, but there's definitely more sweeping going on than the last major curling tournament...
...it's BANDSLASH!
Yes - that word that makes your flist cry out for mercy. Or at least for you to "filter, dammit, FILTER!"
Bandslash making your friends hate you? Find yourself looking up those pictures of Pete Wentz while your friends mock? Can name any bandmember at 300 paces and who they may/may not be sleeping with? Well, we're here to help. Not to take away the madness and the sweaty palms, but rather to give you atowel place to go bandslash crazy. Here is the place to give vent to your Bandslash Mania.

Hopefully find refuge from the 14-year-old girls posting unbetaed bad!fic!*
Find a place where your glee will be met by more glee whereupon it will add together using the principle of constructive interference until it is the loudest sound in the universe and, dammit, all those people who mocked you will be deafened by its glory.
A few rule type things!
1. Only complete stories are to be posted here. No WIPs, please! However, if you are starting a multi-chapter fic in your OWN journal and want to give people a heads-up, you can do one announcement post and one post when the story is complete. This way, people will have the option of following along or not.
2. Please post picspams/fic/fanart/videos/whatever to your own journal, then make the announcement here. Do not post directly to the comm. I think most people do this anyway, but it will be cleaner and neater if we all do it.
3. Please do not link to locked posts. It's unfair to ask a community of over a thousand to friend your journal just to read your fic or to view your picspam. There are many ways to keep your RL identity and your fannish identity separate.
4. Please include rating, pairing and any applicable warning(s) in all fic announcements. We're not going to institute a set format at this point, but please remember that people like info, and a lot of people won't read your fic if they don't know anything about it! The more you put in your announcement, the better it is for you, the author! (This is especially true for warnings--err on the side of too many if need be.)
5. Please do not put large images or embedded video outside a cut-tag. Teaser images are fine, and work wonderfully for icon posts. If you're using a banner to announce something, that banner is cannot exceed 350x200 pixels. (Embedded videos outside a cut-tag are just a big no-no! Also, see rule 2--they should be on your own LJ!)
In conclusion: Band Boys! (And girls!)

dotcoms_refresh): All-American Rejects, The Academy Is..., All Time Low, Butch Walker, Brand New, The Cab, Cobra Starship, The Dresden Dolls, Empires, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Hey Monday, The Hush Sound, Metro Station, Mindless Self Indulgence, My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, Phantom Planet, The Sounds, Straylight Run, Taking Back Sunday, We The Kings, The Used, The Young Veins and associated bands*.
*Not sure if the associated band is acceptable? Check with a mod first!
Also as of May 2009, no fic where the real-life children, other relatives, girlfriends/boyfriends/wives/husbands of any of the people in the above named bands are the central focus of story. Exceptions are allowed if that person is well-known in their own right (for example: Keltie Colleen, Alicia Way, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz). Those who are not well-known can be in the story as characters, but it cannot be all about them.
*Mods accept no liability for crap-fic posted in this community. Also accept that some 14-year-olds post way better fic than this particuler mod ever will.
Mods will not accept the following:
Meanness
Halitosis
Member-bashing
Trolls
Morals
Kitten-kicking
Anything else they decide they dislike on a moment's notice.
