AboutWelcome to Bandom Primers! We’re hoping this will be the comm we’ve all secretly yearned for—full of facts and articles and pictures and links to pimp people into our fandom!
There are a few rules, to keep this from getting, well, unruly:
1. Only one primer per subject! If you want to do an FOB primer and there is already one in the comm, sorry about that. Once a primer is a year old, though, we will totally accept a new version from anyone who wants to provide.
2. However, you are not limited to full bands! Individual boys, pairings, and overview of vegans and veganism in bandom, even events (Warped ’05, the Summer of Like primer, oh how I yearn for thee!) are totally fair game!
3. New information/pics/links can be added to the primers in the comments section, so they will always stay fresh and dynamic!
4. All primers MUST be posted to the comm directly, and unlocked. Double posting is fine, but no linking back! What if you go Flocked all of a sudden when your Aunt Josephine stumbles on your LJ!? If you’ve already posted a primer and want to repost it here, that’s GREAT, just cut and paste it into a new box and post to b_p directly.
5. Because of #1, posting membership will be moderated. This is not to be elitist, just to keep from having repetitive primers! If you have a primer and you want to post it at b_p, just send an email to one of the mods and let us know. We will ask to take a quick look at your primer, just to make sure it actually IS a primer. If that subject hasn’t been posted before and it fits the primer definition laid out in the FAQ, we will welcome you with open arms! (If you have written a great primer already, please poke us so you can repost it here! And look out, because we might just come begging to you!)
Okay, here is the thing! I am a TERRIBLE MOD! I am the worst mod EVER and I should know this, but I somehow do NOT know this, and damn. This rule is clearly a bad plan. If you have a primer, please, please try to follow the other rules posted here, especially #6. But just go ahead and post the damn thing. *shakes head at own lameness*
6. (MOST IMPORTANT): No flaming. Primers are never totally objective, though the good ones try their best. Primers on pairings are particularly slanted (who tops?! Who loves their mom more!?). If you disagree, that is totally okay! You can say so in the comments, and even link to pics/articles that you think support your point of view. You can even do a related primer (if the GCH you dislike makes Travis too sober, then do a “stoner” primer and let us know the truth!). Then, let it go. Haters will be banned from commenting.
7. Likewise, no spamming. Comments should be used for leaving/getting information ONLY, and not for “OMGWTF AHHAHA” comment threads. If you disregard this more than once, we reserve the right to ban you from commenting. And MAN do we hate doing that.
