bandfic_100, a drabble challenge community focused on musician-based ficion. All genres of music are welcome here, be it rock, pop, punk, etc. We also welcome writers of all genres of bandfiction, including gen, het and slash.
Once a week, the community moderator (that would be![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
sidewinder) will post a prompt or challenge of some kind. Your goal will be to write a 100-word story--otherwise known as a drabble--that somehow incorporates or uses the idea of the challenge. You are more than welcome to answer the challenge with more than one story, if so inclined! You are not required to submit entries if you join, only if and when inspiration strikes.
Prompts will be posted on Saturdays, as regularly as I can manage. You are welcome to poke the admin should she forget, but only the admin can post the official weekly prompt.
Basic Rules for the community.
1. As this is a community that will feature adult-oriented fiction, for everyone's peace of mind and security it is intended for adults only. I don't have the time to check after every person who joins in here, but please don't be an idiot and talk about being underage in the community. Doing so will get you booted out & banned quickly. We will work on the assumption that by joining this community, you are confirming that you are of age to read adult materials as determined by your local state/country/etc.
2. Constructive criticism and feedback are greatly encouraged. Flames and general rudeness are not.
3. On-topic posts only. Off-topic posts including community promos not approved by the moderator will be deleted.
4. All stories with a rating higher than PG-13 should be placed behind an LJ-cut. Keep it work-safe.
5. Crossovers between musicians and non-musician celebrities are fine.
6. A drabble is 100 words, no more, no less. Not all word-count software programs may count exactly the same, but please try to stick with the general concept that a drabble is a 100-word story, not a 150-word story, or a 60-word story, or a 1000-word story. A large part of the challenge of writing a drabble is fitting a story to this specific framework and size.
7. Story formatting. The subject of your post should be of the following format:
FIC: Story Title (fandom)
As an example...
FIC: Hot Nights (Pink Floyd)
This is so stories can be easily bookmarked in the Memories section. If this information is not included in your posting I'll have to edit it in myself, which will slow things down!
Please include the following basic information in your drabble postings.
Title: The title of the story.
Author: Your pen name/lj identity
Fandom/characters: Band/musicians featured in the story
Rating: simply indicating "adult" or "general audiences" is fine
Genre: Gen, het or slash
Summary: A brief description, can just be what challenge prompt you are responding to.
Disclaimer: All drabbles should contain a disclaimer indicating that the story is fictional.
A sample header:
Title: Distractions
Author: sidewinder
Fandom: The Beatles (John Lennon, George Harrison)
Rating: general audiences
Genre: slash
Summary: George needs one...
Disclaimer: Pure fiction, never happened
Please tag your entries with band name as well (or artist name if solo) for easier browsing.
