3rd McFly gig on Friday night means 3rd attempt at a McFly scarf!

Just gotta sew up the loose ends and put some backing on - maybe a few tassels on the ends and VOILA!

So i'm gonna change direction on this one..
Originally I was knitting away with the intention of creating a 'Busted' scarf...
However...
Whilst cleaning up the loungeroom (shock horror) I chucked my lounge throw in the washing machine and whilst staring @ my lounge in the nuddy, I had an ephiphany!
Why not knit - are u ready for this?! - why not knit a British band inspired throw rug!! Each awesome band/artist could be paid hommage to by knitting squares of their band's logo/icon and the union jack (as pictured/knitted above) could be slotted in between!
Genius...
Now...Britich artists that should feature in my tribute throw rug...in no particular order..

So, with that being the new plan, on to the next union jack!

Going quite well i think! Still annoyed with the edges... they're curling in quite a bit and ive stuffed it up something shocking, but hopefully it'll all sort itself out ^_^

I'm so bloody wrapped @ how well it came out & stoked that I found replacements for those butterflies! Shooting stars are much more appropriate ^_^
Technically i'm not completely finished - i'm gonna scoot into Lincraft 2morrow and get some backing for it, then after i stitch that on - good to go ^_^

So now that i've finished that one, u'd think i'd wanna sit back, relax, armire my wears and wait for the swelling in my wrists to go down BUT NO!
I'm already getting the shakes due to withdrawls...

I've been feeling the love for the boys recently - been giving their discs a good spinning recently and have decided that they're musical legacy is next to be given the band scarf salute!
[man i apologies, not making ANY freaking sense 2nite - i'm a little out of it on Palaromine for my hayfever...sends me la la]

However I'm needing some input on the design...

Cheers to Alaterial, I have the busted band logo and a pattern for the union jack..
Here's what i'm thinking...

FLAG--Busted logo--FLAG



Obviously the flag would be done in blue, red, white... so maybe the base/background of the scarf I could make blue then have BUSTED in white, with the box around it in red?!?

I'm plugging away! Onto the second McFly "woot woot!"
Ive decided to skip doing a heart in between each word - reason being, I was in a complete knitting trance and just kept on a-goin` with the purple and forgot that I was going to work a heart in...
Yeah...
So instead I went into Lincraft aka Heaven, and found cute lil shiny butterfly iron-on thingies that i'm just going to stitch on instead ^_^
Ideally hearts would have been better, but they didn't have any!! Then I thought, okay, what about a guitar! I could shove that in between (keeping with the music theme) but no! The buggers didn't have any guitars either!
So basically it came down to the butterfly or Whinnie the Pooh...tough choice I know...

I'm thinking of saving the union jack for the next scarf - mainly cause I don't have the right colour blue and i'm a lazy arse who wouldn't be bothered going out to get it - and I really just wanna keep knitting to get this one finished ^_^

So instead I think i'll do: MCFLY <3 MCFLY <3 (and depending on how long that makes it, i'll chuck in another MCFLY <3 ^_^

Obviously the love hearts would be the right way up - don't think an arrow and the number 3 represents 'love' all that well in scarf form...

Welcome 1 and all to *Band Scarves* Woo!

Okay so i'm a pretty dodgy knitster @ the moment, as I haven't knitted in yonkies - but I recently had a *lightbulb moment* and thought "how cool would it be to have a scarf with a fave band on it to wear every day of the week"

Such a trend setter..

So Far on the list..

MCFLY, SOD, HANSON, BUSTED, JOHN MAYER, MATT WILLIS + will write more later ^_^

Thought it would be cool to track my progress with a lil community and if others are inspired or interested in the idea you're welcome to join or keep watch, contribute or make suggestions ^_^

Righto, first cab off the rank is coming along nicely...

Tis McFLY ^_^ - I'm thinking of popping a union jack after the bands name, but suggestions would be fan-freaking tastic!
