[info]hobbitofkobol has updated [info]3xcusemyfrench with photos and video of Jamie and Kandyse's Q&A at Comic Con France. Subtitles have kindly been added for those of who don't know more than a few words in French. I haven't had an opportunity to watch the video yet, but there are apparently spoilers for early Season 4.5.

Hi there. De-lurking to actually make my first post. I've been running stuff past [info]asta77  but this was too good not to share immediately. (I haven't seen this one turn up yet. But the Jules Verne Fest is, as someone over at [info]battlestar_blog  put it so well, le cadeau that keeps on giving. ;) )  And it's kind of face-meltingly adorable:

He nearly tears up at one point. Bless. <3

For one of my newest wallpapers I used further photos of Jamie from the photo shoot with Laurent Koffel alias Tsume from April 24, 2009. Now I got some inquiries to the photos.

I got these for my works via email about my website. Because I didn't know the source, I haven't posted them till now either. But in the meanwhile Laurent Koffel himself has posted a further photo in his Flick account. Therefore I decided to post the pictures in my LiveJournal [info]cassie00 today.

It seems Flickr is the place of the moment for photographers to upload their photos. This photo was taken on April 21st, 2009, likely at the UK State of Play premiere (thanks [info]cassie00), by Darren James Bell:

Deepdiscount.com is having a 60% off sale on A&E Home Video titles. Included in the sale is the Horatio Hornblower - Collector's Edition. The box set includes all eight of the Hornblower films and at a price of $23.98 with free shipping, within the U.S., it's the best deal I've seen excluding sales of used DVDs. The sale ends July 9th. I'm passing the information along in case some of you reading don't already own the films, at least five of them. ;)

There have been conflicting reports as to when the remaining episodes of Series 1 of Law & Order: UK will air. Originally, word was the episodes would air in the fall on ITV. More recent news has the episodes not airing on ITV until 2010. With word today of the commissioning of a second series to begin filming in the fall, I emailed my contact at ITV to see if there was any new information on filming or a premier date. Filming has not yet been scheduled, nor has an air date been set for the remaining six episodes. My contact's best guess is early 2010. This may change, but it's possible there will be no new episodes this year.

Digital Spy, in their article about the series pickup, had an interesting comment by ITV's Laura Mackie:

"This new commission brings our total order to 26 episodes, which demonstrates our commitment to series that have concepts and storylines that can run long-term."

In the United States, the more episodes of a series produced, the easier it is to sell or syndicate. I do wonder if ITV may be holding off airing episodes in order to put together a more attractive package for the U.S. market or allow for series to air concurrently in both countries as BBC America is doing with Torchwood.

Yeehah!

ITV1 commissioned a second series

ITV1 has commissioned a second series of crime drama Law & Order, which will return with the same cast, including Bradley Walsh, Jamie Bamber and Freema Agyeman.

A new run of 13 episodes of the UK version of the US format will go into production later this year, with broadcast expected next year, after the ITV director of television, channels and online, Peter Fincham, and the director of drama, Laura Mackie, gave it the green light.

Jamie Bamber and his wife Kerry Norton attended the 'Sparks Tribute Gala 2009' held at Grosvenor House on June 12, 2009 in London.

The Sparks Tribute Gala celebrated and honored the people who have supported and carried out the vital work of the children’s medical research charity. The gala were hosted by Sparks Co-President Gabby Logan and popular actor Tony Gardner.

I found the first photos of the event already yesterday. Contactmusic has released these.

'Different Worlds' by John Patterson

The article was written back in April, there is a mention of Jamie turning 36 "last week", but it's a nice biographical article and Jamie recounts his more well known acting experiences. And here is the part of the interview that grabbed my attention:

After maturing on BSG, amid luxury and bottomless coffers, Bamber returned to the constricted budgets and brief running times of British TV with some nervousness.

"I loved Law & Order but it was a sharp wake-up call, seeing again how British TV, against all the odds, manages to compete in the world market on such an uneven playing field. It's not just superficial things like the food; on Law & Order we couldn't even afford 12 jurors. I'm like, 'Christ, it's called Law and Order!'

"At some point," Bamber says of British television, "we have to start spending because we're shooting ourselves in the foot. I could happily live in Richmond for the rest of my life if I knew the work was always coming in, but here [in LA] I get five scripts a week and four of them make me sit up. Over there, unless you're in that top rung - James McAvoy, guys like that - you don't get all the best stuff. Here you can be mediocre and flourish."

Five scripts a week? I like the sound of that.
