I am sick actually. Just listening to some Harvey Danger, reminds me of my childhood.

Ugh, I HATE being sick! Even more than kidney stones, cramps, and migranes. Because with the flu there's really nothing you can do about it. Pain pills don't work, cold medicine doesn't really work. And everyone tells you to just rest and sleep, but I can't sleep because I can't breathe through my nose and my throat kills whenever I swallow but I can't stop swallowing for some reason. (That's what she said!) I was supposed to close tonight but I called in. I got it yesterday all of a sudden, it was so weird. My nose just started running Saturday night and then my throat started hurting and it just got worse. So I had to open and close yesterday and all day I was running around like crazy (it was super busy) with tissues in my hand constantly wiping and blowing my nose and then spraying hand sanitizer all over myself and anything I touched lol. And the customers were like "Are you sick?....Oh....I don't wanna get sick..." They kept looking at me like I was diseased or something lol. So ya, I felt like shit all day yesterday and it just got worse today, so I figured it'd just be better for me to stay home than to infect everyone else.

Is it hot or cold stuff that's good for your throat when you're sick? I can't remember. Cause I have ice cream (which I really want) and soup (not so much).

Ugh.

So I get to campus the same time as always, only to discover that the top parking lot closest to the buildings (which usually has a number of spots to choose from at the exact time, and has all semester) is randomly completely full and full of about thirty circling cars. Ugh, so I ended up having to park in a lot waaaaaay the fuck down the hill.

So now I'm running totally late, and so I basically run up three hills and four flights of stairs only to arrive at my classroom a sweaty, smelly mess... and to find out class has been canceled.

*rips hair out*

This is going to be a shitty day.

I got my own bass yesterday. It's a Peavey Milestone III in sunburst with a white pickgaurd and it came with the gig bag and a Crate amp. I got a pretty decent deal on it. Also, I was kind of set that I wanted a Peavey so I just snatched it up. I went with my friend to go and try it out and it needs new strings, but that was the only thing wrong with it.

Then I got home and I couldn't sleep. I bought a bass guitar and amp? What the hell is wrong with me? Isn't it too early to be having a mid-life crisis? Instead of buying a convertible, I bought a guitar. I'm too old for the rockstar dream. Musician was one of the things I was worst at. Maybe I just needed to spend more time playing RockBand on my friend's Wii and get this out of my system.

I was tossing and turning thinking about the amount of money I'd invested in what started as a lark. Everyone has been encouraging me, and my friend at the Apocalyptica concert said I was a good guitar player and he never understood why I quit. I quit because I sucked. But I guess... and this is with a lot of hesitation... I have to admit, begrudgingly, that I sometimes am a pretty modest person and undervalue myself often. So maybe he's right (he is a guitar player), I don't know. I like playing, it makes me happy and relaxed. And now that I've put some money into it I really feel like I have to do this.

I'm still panicking a little. I need to go home and bond with my guitar.
