So, we ordered a pair of $600 red thigh-highs from Qualifetish.

They arrived several weeks late.
They were pink, not red.
They had epoxy stains on the leather.
They had no inner lining.
They were a full size too small.

"No refund, no exchange."

I'm VERY disappointed. The Qualifetish ankle boots we purchased used were VERY good quality, so I had high expectations - hence the $600 of spending.

Now we have something completely unsuitable. One of my other girls MIGHT be able to fit them, but otherwise I'm not really sure what to do.

How hard is it to stretch boots up a half-size or so?

So who can drive in ballet boots? Is it me? Is it? I think it's me!

We'd considered figuring out how to drive in ballet boots for about a year now, and I've just been certain it was impossible -- mostly because I drive stick, and the clutch just seemed like it'd be too difficult to manage.

Surprisingly, it wasn't all that hard. We practiced in a big parking lot for awhile, and then I drove the five miles home. I'm a little skittish still, but it's nice to know that if I'm locked in boots, I *can* get somewhere in the car if I have to. *giggles* Also, it's just awesome to have triumphed like that.

-----

I have a new pair of dancer toepads -- the Danztech Toesavers Prima pads, rather than the Elites that I've been wearing. I don't like the Primas as much. :( But they do okay. I'm going to get some of the smaller gel-pads for extra toe padding, since the main problem caused by the Primas seems to be how much room they take up on the sides.

-----

We also have a pair of boots on order from Hot Peppers that should arrive soon. I was eager to try a pair from a new company, since I'm not pleased by Pleaser's line, and punitiveshoes takes so long to arrive. I will try to take some pics of the new ones to post here when I get them.

Really, really hot. *runs off to rub her cheeks against her pretty pretty boots*

I am so /over/ the Pleasure USA Devious line. I own four pair of Devious ballet shoes, and while they're nice and all, they just... well, okay, I've /broken/ one pair, and the extremely high arch in them has not been pleasant for me.

I love my PunitiveShoes.com boots, but they're much more expensive than the not-more-than-$100-a-pair Pleasers. Sir wants to try QualiFetish next (I think that's the name?). Other than that, does anyone have any recommendations as far as brands are concerned?

Sorry, I certainly reckon I could post something.

We've moved into a new condo, and of course one of the first things we did was move all my boots over here. I say all, because I am up to /five/ pairs of ballet-pointe shoes now. ialdabaoth has bought two new pairs of Pleaser USA's Devious brand: These and These. Now, one who has ever worn ballet boots/shoes will be quick to note that THESE OFFER NO ANKLE SUPPORT! I have grown cocky, and I really didn't think that'd be a problem, but oh my, it certainly is.

Had a rather frightening moment when I realized that; they were so light, so nothing-to-wear at first, that I stepped a bit quickly and fell over. My ankle swelled up for a day or so, but it didn't seem to be anything serious. Took much advil, did I.

(We ended up getting both pairs after the first pair ordered had not arrived, ten weeks from the ordering date. Checked the bank account records, it appeared we hadn't ordered it, so we ordered the other pair. Erm, we were wrong. :) )

So that makes those, plus these (which ialdabaoth has painted a Dragon and Phoenix on in shiny enamels) and these (those locks are useless, btw, since the other side of the strap is velcro...cute though!) and my personal favorite, the Justines. And I also have a pair of punitiveshoes' Ranchos, modified to a cloven-hoof rather than a pony-hoof. The Ranchos I have worn out many, many times, and I always get the Most Fun Attention with them... great double-takes and conversation with people whose interest overcomes their need Not To Stare.

I very much prefer PunitiveShoes.com's product to Pleaser USAs. It could be the hand-crafted-ness, but I think rather it's that punitiveshoes makes a flat soled shoe, and Pleaser's has a profound arch. I'm not flat footed, but my foot is not /that/ curvy. PunitiveShoes also has more room in the shoe, which, while it seems that might not be desirable, has been a positive for me... when my feet are all wrapped up tight they get unhappy quickly. Buuuut, Pleasure is a bit more available, more quickly, more cheaply.

ialdabaoth wishes next to purchase a custome-made pair and has taken my measurements for it, but that will have to wait until we save up the money for it. ... It occurs me to that I have spent enough money on boots to make a great down payment on a car. But would a car make me look /this/ sexy? I think not!

Question regarding a certain brand of ballet-heeled shoes

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of buying a pair of ballet-heeled shoes for my girlfriend. They're made by Pleaser USA and they're from their "Devious" range. I'm basically undecided between this design (http://howcool.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=624) and this one (http://howcool.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=620). Now, from what I've read here, it will be beneficial if she wears toe pads (she's had ballet training for many years, I must say). My question has to do with the sizing. Her shoe size is US Women's 8. Will the extreme arch and the potential use of toe pads make it necessary for me to get her a size 9?

Thank you in advance.

Well, day three of trying to go a whole week wearing the boots from when I get home to when I wake up in the morning found me failing in my goal. *grins*

Honestly, though, it was 'cause we went out to eat and got home so late. Sir was quite kind to not make me put them on, since with the new brass lacing fixtures it does take about thirty minutes to get them all done up. WELL worth it, since my hands are generally not strong enough to open the chain links by myself to get them off, and it's a VERY pretty look, but *ugh!* Effort!

Monday I did beautifully, and pranced about the house getting dinner prepared. Tuesday I did almost as well, but ended up standing in one spot for about twenty five minutes while doing dishes, and... well, I'm finding that one can stand in one place for a good bit in the toe boots, but as soon as one moves, one's feet will realize just how upset they are about all this.

The trouble I seem to be running into at this point is not so much on the tips of my toes because they're holding my weight (Thank you DanzTech Elite pads), but seems instead to be happening at the knuckles of my toes. I've tried wrapping bandaids around them before to keep them from getting scraped, but that seemed to end up being a bit worse because the circulation seemed to get cut off?

Thanks go to blushing_grace for providing her expertise in pre-boot exercises.
