Hello! Longtime lurker and first time poster here. =)
Today I tried lemon scones, using a
recipe from Allrecipes.
( Two! )I'm in the middle in terms of how these came out. Unfortunately, the lemon flavor in the scones wasn't very strong at all, even after tampering a bit with the recipe and adding in some lemon juice. With the blueberry butter, the flavor stood out a little more, but it still wasn't enough. The texture wasn't quite right either -- they were very delicate and soft on the inside, and while I personally have no problem with that, it's not very scone-like at all. They were also too short, so next time I'll have to make sure that I don't roll them out so thinly.
If any of you guys have tips on scone-making, I would love to hear them. Thanks!
