"Brian Austin Green has been cast on Smallville as the DC Comics villain Metallo, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
That's right — the Terminator alum is now playing a cyborg himself. That is a pretty freakin' super bit of casting, right?
Green will appear as the kryptonite-powered villain (alter ego "Daily Planet" journo John Corben) in at least the first two episodes of Season 9, which takes flight Friday, Sept. 25."
"Green's Smallville gig comes on the heels of the Beverly Hills 90210 alum passing on the role of One Tree Hill sports agent Clayton. (And isn't this role so, so much cooler?!) Prior to that, Green had been attached to the CW pilot Body Politic, but that series didn't get picked up for fall."
"Though Brian Austin Green was reported to be in advanced talks to join The CW's "One Tree Hill" earlier this week, a source close to the production tells me the man -- whom I prefer to call "David Silver" -- has passed on the part.
Word is, The CW made B.A.G. a very healthy offer -- I'm hearing $75 Gs an episode... which is what Chad Michael Murray was making, by the way -- but Green ultimately decided "OTH" wasn't for him.
Hey, maybe it's because he's still holding out hope for a midseason "Body Politic" pick up!"
One of our affiliates over at Sarah Connor Society just got for me a bunch of lovely HQ photos of Brian from various events! Click on the photo to check them all out!
"Sources confirm to me exclusively that Brian Austin Green is in advanced talks to join the cast next season as a series regular. "They're ironing out a few issues," notes a Tree Hill insider, "but it's pretty much a done deal."
Who is Green playing and what does it mean for Nathan (James Laferty)? Keep reading and find out!
The 90120 Sarah Connor Chronicles star would play Nathan's Jerry Maguire-esque sports agent, Clayton.
As you know, Green had a starring role in The CW pilot Body Politic. When that show failed to snag a spot on the fall schedule, network brass approached him with the Tree Hill gig."
I've posted here before. I write a blog on actor, Jeffrey Combs, The Combs Corner.
I know you're suffering with some crap news right now (I liked the SCC a lot too), so I thought I'd bring some Brian/Jeff happy news to cheer you up a bit.
There's a new (more Brian-heavy, yet sadly less Jeff!) trailer for their upcoming thriller, Urgency, in which Brian plays a pharmaceutical lawyer and Jeff plays his bumbling and hilarious neighbor.
I had a private screening of the film earlier this year and Jeff and Brian are fantastic together! They actually have such great rapport, it would be fun to see them in another film together, like a "buddy pic" or something. :)
Urgency doesn't have a solid release date yet, but I just thought I'd send along some positive news. :)
Horatio fights to save Yelina while Delko goes against Calleigh's pleas and helps his dangerous father with life threatening consequences. Brian Austin Green guest stars as an alleged carjack victim. (source)
It will be the first CSI: Miami I've ever watched! :P
Here's a podcast from yesterday courtesy of Geek Out Loud (click here for the link to download the podcast).
It's a satisfyingly long interview and you have to go through quite a bit of other stuff before hearing Brian but it's all worth the wait. Especially Brian geeking out on Star Wars. ;)
Then help SkyNext spread the word. SCC IS NOT CANCELED YET:
"Hopefully you’ve all gotten a chance now to listen to SkyNext 33 featuring our exclusive interview with Brian Austin Green. This is your chance to be a part of some T:SCC headlines and get the story out there, let all the naysayers know that Terminator has NOT been canceled and get this amazing story heard.
Link the latest episode to your Facebook, Twitter, Blog, or anything with the headline Brian Austin Green: “It’s Not Over Yet” and get the word out that we don’t want this show going anywhere anytime soon. Feel free to discuss the interview in the comments below! Hope you all enjoyed it." Go -> HERE
As Derek Reese on “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” Brian Austin Green is used to fighting against mankind’s extinction from Skynet. But now another giant network threatens the resistance, as it is yet to be known if FOX will renew the show for a third season.
Brian Austin Green has landed a part in the finale of CSI: Miami, playing "Anthony," seemingly a carjacking victim but with ties to the case that could cast him in a different light, PEOPLE learns.
"Our casting director suggested [Green] to me for this role," executive producer Ann Donahue tells PEOPLE. "I thought he was perfect because he can play a tough guy and also have a leading man presence. So, we are thrilled to have him in our finale!"
The seventh-season finale of the CBS show airs in mid-May, and Green starts shooting his part this week. He can currently be seen on FOX's Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles as well.
Just enough to get us started. Now you! Favorite scenes, lines, etc?
[The needless to say part: this is not the post to bitch about Fox, TSCC writers and or anything else. This is an appreciation post. There are lots of other places to do that. ]
"...Though the "Beverly Hills 90210" vet is currently a regular on FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," The CW confirms that Brian Austin Green has just secured a role in their "Body Politic" project.
The series, if green lit, will follow young government staffers living and working in Washington, D.C.
Green will play Lucky, a D.C. insider who knows everyone in town.
The notorious BAG is just one of several names already attached to "Politic" including Gabrielle Union, Tim Matheson, "Friday Night Lights"' Minka Kelly, "Veronica Mars"' Jason Dohring and "Six Degrees"' Jay Hernandez.
So, does this mean Silverado will never return to Beverly Hills for an appearance as Donna Martin's loving husband on the new "90210"? Not really. He told me he is down and could easily do both.
More importantly for "Terminator" fans, does Green's "Politic" casting signal that the fate of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is sealed? Not necessarily. No doubt BAG's involvement in "Politic" is in second position to "T:TSCC," meaning that if "T:TSCC" gets another season, that would be his first priority. Still, the fact that he's looking around is not a good sign for the FOX show.
No word yet on whether BAG will bless us with a couple killer West Bev spin moves on any of his current or future projects..."
This is a scene with Derek and Jesse talking. The clip is 2:23 long so we get quite a bit of what they're talking about. Don't click if you don't want to be spoiled!
