Due to several people needing extensions (of which I am one), and the fact that I didn't announce the ficathon until fairly late this year, I am pushing back the deadline for the Drunken!Giles-athon.  The new deadline is Sunday, January 11th.

Huge thank yous to everyone who's participating, and even bigger thank yous to everyone who is more on the ball than me and had their fic ready either early or would have had it ready on time.  I'm sorry about the change, but since much of the fic wouldn't have been posted on the original due date, anyway, this seems like the best solution.

If you have any comments or questions, or if there's a problem with the new due date, please contact me ASAP.  Again, thank you all!  I love Drunken!Giles and you guys are what make it so much fun!

The details are as follows: Five hundred words minimum, any pairing or none at all (gen, het, slash--all are acceptable) as long as it's the winter holiday season, Giles is the main (though not necessarily POV) character, and he is drunk. ::nods::

The due date is December 30th and signups end November 29th. We will have all assignments sent out by the 1st of Dec. To sign up, just fill out the thingie below the (fake) cut and paste it into a comment!

All I want for . . . well, pretty much any time, is lots of Drunken!Giles! ;-D

ficfinishing: Where to come to get fic done

Watchers, jaffa cakes, tea and Sex Pistols - this is a ficathon about our three fine Englishmen, Wesley, Spike and Giles. Spike/Giles, Spike/Wes, Wes/Giles, Wes/Giles/Spike, or just plain gen as long as at least two of the three men are present.

Dear fanfic authors,

first of all I’m sorry if OT posting isn’t allowed in this community, but there’s no other way for me to do this; just delete this if it isn’t appropriate.

I’m a fanfic reader and occasional fanfic writer myself, so what did I pick for my thesis in communication sciences? Fan Fiction, of course. I designed a survey to find out more about our writing habits and media use; it takes about 10 minutes to complete.

If you could go here and fill it out, I’d be forever grateful. Of course I’ll publish some of the results at my journal in about a month or two, so you’ll know what happened with your answers.
The survey is completely anonymous; I have no way of finding out who gave which answers.

It's like a ficathon that's winner take all! Go over here to bet which team will win and what the winning score will be, as well as what character you'd like to have written for you. If you get the right score and winner, everyone else in the pool writes you a 200-500 word ficlet (or more) about your chosen character. That means you win a whole lineup of fic about your favorite character. If someone else wins, everyone writes the winner a ficlet. If no one bets right (which has happened the last two years), no one has to write anything. Fics will be due two weeks after the Superbowl, February 17.
