Vila groaned as he heard the voices raised on the Flight Deck. It was his turn on Watch. He wasn't looking forward to being there while Avon and Blake went at it hammer and tongs. He inched forward hoping to slip in unnoticed.
Vila relaxed as he saw that Gan was also present, watching the argument from his flight position. With his arms crossed and head moving from Blake to Avon and back again he reminded Vila of the umpire at an Alphan tennis match.
“So who's winning?” Vila whispered as he sidled up to Gan, careful not to draw the attention of the two men below.
“Well Blake is ahead on rhetoric, but Avon is winning by a mile on sarcasm.” Current Mood: amused

 | 02:30 am - Malapropism take 2 Short and sweet Title: Saved by the Typo Word Count: 89 Rating: Gen Notes: AU PWB
“It was a terrible mistake!” Servalan sighed. “A simple clerical error and now he's President.” “True” Travis growled “Still they did a good job, there isn't a trace of an accent now. “ Servalan cast a venomous glare in his direction before returning her attention back to the podium. Roj Blake smiled over the crowd as he was sworn in as the President of the Federation. He wasn't sure how he survived the pogrom, but he was determined the Freedom Party would not be forgotten. Avon glared at Blake. “next time I order my outfit!”
“It was just a typo!” Blake protested. “I wouldn't have dreamt a gentleman's outfitters would provide these sort of services.”
“Really!” Avon said drily, his tone implying Blake up until now had led a very sheltered existence.“Well, now I have them, just what do you suggest I do with them?”
Blake's gaze took in the muscularly attractive males clothed in bath foam, which just barely covered the essentials. “I'm sure you'll think of something.”
Avon gave him a trenchant glare which suddenly transformed into a smug, Cheshire cat grin. Blake felt a lead weight settle into the pit of his stomach, Avon had thought of something. Whatever it was, Blake had a horrid feeling he wasn't going to enjoy it. Current Mood: amused

 | 06:01 pm - Malapropism Title: Arresting News Words: 71 Notes: PWB
From the Federation News Desk:
Roj Blake, the well-known tourist, was erected this morning by Federation troopers. His efforts at spreading distension have caused great headcases for the Administration. Evidence was found that his group was planning to assimilate key fissures in the Federation High Council. "He is an enema of the state," declared the Federation President, "and must be made an example of!" Others demanded that he be excreted immediately.
Stay turned for further developments.

 | 10:19 am - Prompt: Malapropisms
As literate readers of fanfiction, I'm confident many a story has been spoiled when a beloved character, mourning the loss of a friend, fell, prostate with grief. Or perhaps we read in horror as the antagonist sowed some dysentery among the ranks. Or someone, trying to urge a companion to wait, reminded him that "patience is a virgin."
Write me a story, please do, and throw some malapropisms in there. A character might use a word wrong, or you might delight in being a Dogberryish narrator. If you can't think of anything, try asking the ship's computer. We all know Zen and Slave are vast suppositories of information.

Sometimes going back can be painful, disappointing or everything you imagined it would be. Imagine one of our heroes meeting up with a guest star from a past episode who had a great impact on them or even someone who was mentioned that they knew.

“Dad I was surprised at first when you agreed to the colonisation. I found it difficult to imagine you wallowing happily in bucolic splendour. I suppose you never cease to show me sides I never knew you had. You, mum and my sister have settled in so well. Those last pictures you sent almost make me wish I was there. The twins are growing into fine strong lads.
There may yet be some hope of your being a grandad again. The girl I mentioned in the last communication, has agreed to go on a date. Though I'm surprised at her requirements. I am meeting Ravella tomorrow so I'll let you know how it turned out in the next communication.”
Blake sent off the message and signed off. He sighed as he pushed back his chair. He was hungry and thirsty but Ravella had been so insistent that he'd fast he almost suspected her of being a Religious. He undressed and got wearily into bed doing his best to ignore his fiercely growling stomach.
“Whatever Ravella had promised to show me had better be worth it.” he muttered trying to persuade his body to go to sleep. Current Mood: somber

Avon frowned as he watched Blake outline his plan to the crew. He wondered if the man realised the irony of the situation. To liberate the masses Blake espoused to protect. They were expected to subjugate their freedom to their leader's rule. Well, not without a fight Avon decided.
“What's in it for me?” His question derailed Blake's current train of logic.
Blake looked at him, clearly astounded. Avon had to suppress the urge to laugh. Blake's arrogance was such, he'd never imagined there would be any opposition to his plan. Although Avon knew he was going to have to obey in the end. He was determined that his objections to Blake's gentle tyranny would be heard. Current Mood: smiling

Who do you go with? Brutus, who struck down a threat to the republic, Mark Antony, who stirred up a mob to his own advantage, or Cinna the poet, murdered by the mob for having the same name as a conspirator.
